Mmmmmmmm! Dorm food!
On a diet and has to eat dorm food. At least he won't be lacking in the anger department come gameday.
A wise man once told me, "There are starving children in East Quad who would kill to have the food you're having, so eat up."
There can't be a dorm food thread without a mention of "sexy grandpa" serving up the food in Bursley Hall (North Campus).
I lived in Bursley and always just called him "Sexy G". Never knew the G stood for Grandpa...
Ok apparently that's "flamebait". The board these days....
I guess Ondre is a lefty
Woa that explains so much. I dated an Aussie girl & she would never set her knife down when eating, instead using her off hand to operate the fork. I felt kinda silly when I realized how inefficient my technique of constantly setting down my knife & passing my fork from hand to hand was. Then again, I eat so fast usually that I think I appreciate how this keeps me at a reasonable pace.
My German mother ate that way (and all the relatives on that side of the family, not that I see them that often).
Woa, as of Thursday morning when I looked at this, teldar & Other Chris have the exact same number of mGoPoints (1186). Congratulations on this odd coincidence. I will interpret this as an omen that today is going to be awesome.
For some reason, I can't imagine this thread appearing on Eleven Warriors. Why is that?
Don't eat with utensils.
Or use napkins
you'd hold the fork in your left hand, cut with the knife in your right, put the knife down, swap the fork from left to right then eat? Huh. I'm the same as teldar. It never occurred to me to do it any other way.
and keep it in the right hand the entire time. As a vegetarian, I rarely have dishes that require a knife to cut the food, so the fork can stay in my dominant hand the entire time. That's probably very gauche of me, but oh well.
As a lefty I started eating this way naturally, since that always kept the fork is in my dominant hand and knife in my off hand. I never felt like I needed the extra dexterity with my knife hand.
That's how I used to do it (and still do except at nicer restaurants/occasions). I got corrected by my wife with some gentle nagging. :) It makes more sense to me though, I don't need to cut with that much precision so left hand with the knife is fine, more important is not sticking my fork in my eye because I have no coordination with my left hand.
Good short piece on the difference. This is why I frequent Ethiopian places where utensils are discouraged.

Thanks, that's me on the bottom
you were a sub.
It also prevents eating with two forks.
After tasting some of that dorm food at MoJo, every student gravitates towards the salads and sandwiches. The only two good choices + fries.
Space food. Zoltan's giving back.
Looks like something Yoda made for Luke Skywalker in the first Star Wars.
I'm not even a Star Wars nut and I know that Yoda didn't even appear in the first Star Wars movie. He was in the second film released (empire strikes back) which was actually the fifth in the series.
Episode V, the fifth book in the series.
I agree, there were only ever 3 films made, Episodes IV, V, and VI. And Han shot first.
There is only one way to consume broccoli at Michigan. Ondre is going to enjoy himself immensely once he learns the ropes at the old alma mater.
Sorry to state the obvious but CHICKEN BROCOLLI BAKE?
That's one way of making good weight. No more drumstick noming for PeeWee.
He'll be eating elephant soon.
heard he went to a mostly vegi diet a couple weeks prior to heading into town anyway, in order to make sure he dropped a few pounds. So, at least it's not completely foreign.
No that was just the 11th course.
He needs some chicken broccoli bake, stat.
I was so intrigued by the chicken broccoli bake (they didn't have it when I was in school) that I dug up the recipe and made it. I have a feeling it's much better made in school cafeteria quantities.
I've seen the recipe posted online, but it is more of a chicken dish poured over rice the way they describe it there, but when I ate it in South Quad it was more of a one pot dish all mixed together (and absolutely incredible).
If I recall correctly, there is actually a poster here with the handle "Chicken Broccoli Bake" who knows pretty much all there is to know on the subject, and he can probably shed some light on how to make it the "real" way for ultimate deliciousness.
but my mother always makes a chicken broccoli lasagna that is incredible. I hate broccoli but that dish is outstanding.
