You're fast... Just got the tweet
January 21st, 2012 at 4:52 PM ^
Before it gets out from anyone but me I have decided to decommitt from Michigan to stay home and play ball at the University of Cincinnati
January 21st, 2012 at 4:52 PM ^
Now we can poentially take both Diamond and Garnett...
January 21st, 2012 at 4:52 PM ^
yay. and aw shucks!
January 21st, 2012 at 4:55 PM ^
Best of luck to the guy, I'm just glad that we've positioned ourselves well to pick up some equally talented O-line guys in his absence.
January 21st, 2012 at 6:03 PM ^
I think this is the best of both worlds. Stacey gets to play closer to home and we have more room to sign better players. Its not a knock on him, its just reality. Wish him the best of luck, and lets hope Garnett and/or Diamond/Kozan commit.
January 21st, 2012 at 6:15 PM ^
This comment is kinda of asinine. There is no guarrantee as of now that either will commit, much less both of them. If we get neither, our depth at OL is down one body and that will hurt
January 21st, 2012 at 6:37 PM ^
No its not. I never said it was guaranteed we were going to sign anyone else, but the chances are good. We now have room for two OL and those two could be filled by potentially better recruits. Not sure why it is asinine. Lets wait and see if we get any more commits before you go saying a comment is asinine.
January 21st, 2012 at 5:07 PM ^
I have a feeling this is part of the reason he switched his commitment. Definitely more playing time eslewhere, especially with the recent news that at least one of these guys is (probably) on board.
Edit: Also, if we do land both of them, that would make our OL class two 3-stars, two 4-stars, and three (!!) 5-stars (to at least one site). Holy smokes.
January 21st, 2012 at 11:02 PM ^
I think we could even see everyone winding up with 4 stars or better (from at least one ratings service) before things are through. I'd be more surprised if Braden went down or steady as opposed to up. He's got some good buzz now, as does AJ Williams. Bars' school seems lower profile, so he might not be able to move up as easily, but the talent is there.
January 21st, 2012 at 4:53 PM ^
Good luck Caleb
January 21st, 2012 at 6:52 PM ^
His upside from this? He gets to practice, every single day, with LEVITICUS PAYNE. I'm happy for the guy. I just wish I were even lucky enough to meet LEVITICUS PAYNE.
January 21st, 2012 at 4:53 PM ^
Wish him the best.
January 21st, 2012 at 10:19 PM ^
It couldn't have been an easy decision.
January 21st, 2012 at 4:53 PM ^
WTF? He was like our second commit?
January 21st, 2012 at 5:04 PM ^
Out third, Standifer, Brown also.
Edit : Sorry misread it, he was our second commit and 3 over decommits.
January 21st, 2012 at 4:58 PM ^
Yeah, and that's the reason I'm disappointed. I can't say I'm surprised with our OL haul though. I wish him the best of luck at Cincy though.
January 21st, 2012 at 4:54 PM ^
Best of luck to the kid. Committed to play before everyone knew how good this class was. I hope he does great things at Cincinatti. I think our OL haul is still top notch.
January 21st, 2012 at 4:54 PM ^
Idc there's better players & kids out there who litteraly love Michigan
January 21st, 2012 at 4:56 PM ^
January 21st, 2012 at 4:58 PM ^
He held a spot on our list and waited two weeks till signing day to decomitt.
January 21st, 2012 at 5:16 PM ^
Wow. Just, wow.
I hate you.
January 21st, 2012 at 5:19 PM ^
You guys are arguing with a 14 year old.
January 21st, 2012 at 6:00 PM ^
Thank you.
January 21st, 2012 at 6:18 PM ^
Wasn't really a compliment
January 21st, 2012 at 6:25 PM ^
Maybe he is 14 and he was just glad someone pointed it out that it's not his fault
January 21st, 2012 at 7:50 PM ^
Thank you!
January 21st, 2012 at 5:00 PM ^
This is beyond stupid.
Wish the kid the best and move on.
January 21st, 2012 at 5:00 PM ^
I know if I had a scholarship to the greatest university in the world I wouldn't just leave. He's obviously afraid of competition
January 21st, 2012 at 5:03 PM ^
...Or maybe he has family issues and wants to stay closer to home. There are millions of other reasons as to why he wants to goto Cinny over Michigan.
January 21st, 2012 at 5:04 PM ^
Okay triple post. Maybe I'm wrong.
January 21st, 2012 at 5:06 PM ^
Maybe?
January 21st, 2012 at 5:08 PM ^
Maybe.
January 21st, 2012 at 5:04 PM ^
Double Post
January 21st, 2012 at 5:05 PM ^
Triple Post
January 21st, 2012 at 6:15 PM ^
You can obviously read minds. Kudos
January 21st, 2012 at 5:53 PM ^
There are also players who can "literally" spell.
January 21st, 2012 at 4:55 PM ^
study hard, and keep your principles in-tact. I hope to see you in a new years day bowl.
January 21st, 2012 at 4:55 PM ^
I would be upset, but oh well. Best of luck to him!
January 21st, 2012 at 4:55 PM ^
I wish him luck. I think everyone can understand his decision.
January 21st, 2012 at 4:57 PM ^
Luckily for us, our O-line class this year isn't too dependent on one guy so hopefully everyone comes out of this positively.
January 21st, 2012 at 4:57 PM ^
Oh well...
January 21st, 2012 at 4:58 PM ^
Good luck man. This guy was the second commit in our class. This is sad.
January 21st, 2012 at 4:58 PM ^
I still remember that letter from his high school coach talking about his character. Hope he does well in football and in life
January 21st, 2012 at 4:58 PM ^
Good luck at Cinci, Caleb. I can understand where he's coming from...would have been extremely hard for him to work his way up the depth chart with the OL haul we have coming in.
January 21st, 2012 at 5:01 PM ^
I'm glad he gets to stay home and play, and be close to his family. A lot of kids don't get the chance to stay home and still play division 1 football. Good luck to you, Caleb.
January 21st, 2012 at 5:01 PM ^
Good luck at Cinncinatti Caleb!!
January 21st, 2012 at 5:03 PM ^
Of all the O-line commits he always seemed like the odd one out whenever people spoke about the future plans for the O-line arrangement. If that was his feeling as well, I feel bad for the kid considering that he was one our first commits of the class.
The eternal irrational homer in me feels that this is a sign that the coaches contacted him, indicating that they think/know/believe that both Diamond and Garnett will commit.
