RE:The worst tailgating set up I've ever seen. There is no place

Welcome to Salt Lake City. In case you weren't aware, you are welcome to tailgate anywhere on campus, but the bulk of people stick to the area around the Guardsman lot. (Ask around and you will quickly get directions to Guardsman from wherever you are.)

Although it is a dry campus, on game days you are allowed to drink anywhere on campus that you'd like, as long as you don't take booze into any buildings for any reason. If you want to take a piss in the library, leave your beer with your friends/family or you will run into trouble. I highly recommend taking a self-guided 6-pack walking tour of the campus.

Contrary to popular belief, the alcohol laws in Utah are not all that strange. You are welcome to bring as much liquor and beer to the game as you want to and do what you'd normally do back in Ann Arbor. Beer bongs and drinking games (corn hole, beer pong, etc.) are encouraged, just like anywhere else. Be friendly and outgoing and you will get plenty of free booze and food.

Also contrary to popular belief outside of Utah, most people in SLC and most Utah fans are not Mormon, so you should have a fairly stereotypical away game tailgating experience. If you do happen to find some Mormons, check their tags to make sure they've been vaccinated. They bite! (Actually, non-BYU Mormons are generally awesome people and one of the many good parts about living in SLC. BYU Mormons, however, are a whole different breed of human. It is incredible how different BYU Mormons are from non-BYU Mormons.)

I apologize in advance for what I expect to be a low tailgating turnout today. Michigan fans don't know this because your previous ADs have avoided Thursday games like the plague, but Thursday games are THE WORST for tailgating. In spite of playing a high-profile opponent, I expect the tailgating turnout tonight to be the lowest turnout of the season for Utah. Too many people are still going to work today and then rushing to the game afterward.

As for booze inside the stadium, it is "strictly prohibited". That said, it is one of the easier stadiums to sneak booze into that I've ever visited. Use some logic and a flask or two is super easy to do with a 99.9% success rate.

I hope you all have a good time outside of the final score.

Go Utes and Go Blue!
