I know nuts like that guy all too well. Born in Columbus, escaped to Ann Arbor and called a traitor every day I go back. Just like in the terminator "you can't reason with" fans like that.
It is good Les has taken the high road the past years. Who knows what would have happened in 2007...although he was considered to be in his prime, if there was factions in A2, that could have derailed any NC hopes. In any case, looking forward to the future. We can't look back (like Joe Dumars after drafting Darko)...
A lot depends on the assistants he brings on. JH will have an impact but with the small class it more critical on how the new staff develops the current team and the in game coaching (including time out management)!
Legend jerseys should just go away. While it's good to remind the current players about the past, today's generation remembers more about recent success than what happened 50+ years ago. There are other ways to honor those special players and teams. In 2017 I would prefer a homecoming of the NC team instead of bringing back single players every so often.
Watched this in person today. The team lost a lot of experience and talent from last year. The first half of the season was expected to be a learning time with many freshmen and redshirt (Donnal) having to learn. Last 2 years' success probably led to unrealistic expectations for many. Season isn't over yet but will be hard in the B10 without an experienced "big"
Hard to envision Mattison staying with the new regime. Even in Star Wars, only Wedge survived all 3 original movies but that was more akin to Coach Jackson staying thru Rich Rod and Hoke.
I will be driving up for this ball game. I remember Larry Brown during the Pistons championship run. He had the team like a well oiled machine. This will be a tough game (even before the 3 game slide started).
People will forgive and move on as long as the new coach wins. Not quite the same but I remember when M was after Pitino for basketball and ended up with...oh never mind
I would not read into Les' comments too much. He is probably tired of getting asked the same question every day on UM by the reporters and fans and made a statement to diffuse it.
It will be split but overall he won't be cast as a big villain given it would be a choice of NFL vs UM and not as bad as if he went to another university.
The pressure for JH if he comes will be enormous but he will have the full power that has never been seen before at A2. At least the offer at that magnitude lets all the other programs know UM is dead serious.
Regardless of how the leak happened, it still comes down to whether Harbaugh accepts. In all sports there are leaks and the outcome can go either way. It will be a long 2 weeks.
I'll keep my hopes in check until it actually happens. In the meantime, I have to listen to the rival fans down south here keep talking about the past 7 years.
LochDogg = Another result of someone opening their mouth and spewing nonsense talk. Thanks for "resigning". I bet SnoopDogg can so a better job marketing.
Overall all college football (not just Michigan) had a different feeling if you go back 20+ years. First year on campus was Bo's final season (and the basketball national championship). Back then it was a good feeling going into every game thinking there was a good chance to win. It was pre BCS and playoff so even going to a New Year's Day bowl was a big deal then. Not saying the college football landscape is worse now...just much different. I won't mention how much bottles of water cost at the stadium either.
The good news I see is with all the speculation, that means the search team is keeping a good lid on the prime candidates. Although people prefer big names, a plan B doesn't need to be one to be successful.
The WV proximity to hometown is understood, but could also be the depth chart / lack of near term playing time outside of special teams. Whatever the case, good luck to him for his time at Michigan as transferring is not always a slam dunk to future success.
When I heard the news about SF, I told my co-worker (also a Wolverine in Ohio) and he yelled "Go Blue baby!" Everyone looked at us...he blew our cover.
It's a fresh way to showcase art in A2 vs. what I see in the city I live in now (graffiti). Very cool. Funny, when I first read the title I thought the original post was about cartoons in the Daily - either Nuts and Bolts or Calvin.

I agree. Scouts would rate Caris high enough to take in the first round if he continues to improve this year. There are examples of shooting guards in the NBA who defend but are not premiere scorers (example - Thabo Sefalosha).
