You know how people pronounce Target like it’s fancy and French? I do the same for Rutgers. I don’t know how to do that dictionary pronunciation thing, but it’s like “rouge + airs.”
The thing I haven't seen in the "will we make the NIT?" conversation is the "This is Michigan fergodsakes" factor. Michigan sells tickets. Every year, they seem to be invited to pre-season tournaments in NYC, where there is a big, vocal, alumni base that goes to games. If they go deep in the NIT, MSG will be packed (by NIT standards). That has to play a factor in the decision, right?
Maybe I shouldn't say this in the wake of Frank Clark, but I really think the most likely scenario of Michigan winning is lots of Buckeye starters getting arrested between now and kickoff. Of course, the players would have to actually be in jail on gameday, otherwise Urban Meyer would only bench them for like one offensive series.
