Corey Alexander was a really good HS player, who became a decent college player, who became a journeyman NBA player. He talks about himself as if he was NBA75.
Easily the most enjoyable part of that game was the in-house PA guy calling the game as an almost neutral. Normally his call when Michigan hits a 3 makes me want to root for a miss.
Not the most important part of the story, but he wasn’t slated to be the starter. There was hope he would contribute, since the talent is obvious still, but he was closer to fighting for a roster spot than starting.
Jeter has received varying degrees of hype since he decommitted from Notre Dame. 14 total tackles, 0 sacks, 0 TFL’s. I’d be happy to be wrong, but odds are we shouldn’t count on much. We have to hope this staff can get B- performances up front from Hinton/Smith/back-ups, just to tread water, and hope for creating lots of turnovers.
College football, and definitely the NFL, have been made almost impossible for defensive backs. The rules are so disproportionately slanted toward the offense, so I was quite happy w that call. Don't like either team, but I'm never upset w a loss for ND, and it was the right call. If the DB had initiated that contact, there would have been at least 5 flags on the field, and no one would be debating it.
