1980 or 1985 was better than the 2016 defense.  1980 tore apart the entire Big Ten schedule and held OSU to 3 at the Shoe.  Also dominated Washington in the Rose Bowl.  1985 held Top 3 Iowa to 9 pts at Iowa City, was an outstanding, swarming defense.  Both were championship caliber.

True story, I was watching a UM/ND game with friends about 15 years ago and Mike Lodish’s dad was there (he himself played at ND).  I vaguely remembered that shot Lodish gave to Grbac and, man, was his dad pissed I “accused” Mike of it.  He said I was absolutely wrong, insisted I apologize, and the rest of the night kept shooting me looks, punctuated by calling me “Michigan”.  I am vindicated, I could have sworn I got that play correct, one of the dirtiest shots I’ve seen in a game.

Yeah, I really could care less

about fan volume.  Give us some reasons to cheer already, it's been 11 years.

Hanging my hat on wiley Joe Joe Milton myself

or the dude to-be-named-later that we're getting in 2019...

It's a line that should never be crossed

Braylon knows better, say it to the TV screen or think it (I've done both), but don't put that out into social media.  This kind of crap has no place among UM football alumni.

Perspective laddie

There's seriously no comparison between the dumpster fire of no defense and anemic offenses vs. real teams under RR and struggles to mature an extremely young UM team this year.  No comparison whatsoever.

Careful Ian's a friend and the best LB at UM in three decades this side of David Harris
Agreed, no harm to RR was intended by leaving him out

he just is presently distant from the program and his time here was so very short, while all the others, including Hoke, were associated with UM for at least a decade.

Just get the safeties to take correct angles and I'll be happy I watched Brian's link for the 04 UM-Minny game and cringed, again, to watch our safety take the wrong angles in tackling. That nifty tradition, alive and well in 07 vs Beanie Wells, is something I'd like to see go the way of all flesh.
