I'm a little surprised by the negativity displayed here. We've had 2 top-10 classes without winning a conference title. Why is it a given that Hand is going to Alabama? Peppers is a Top-5 player and he's coming. The selling point is that we're building a winner, not that we're there, plus nearly-immediate playing time. Hoke doesn't have to win out to guarantee prospects. Although the last few years have been difficult, Michigan is still a Mecca of college football. We still have the biggest stadium, the best fight song, the best helmets, tradition, and are still the winningest program ever- not just in wins but in %. The up-and-coming leaders are the guys who sell our program not just what's on the field right now. Every guy under 21 can see the talent here. We have talent at almost every position for the next few years. #goblue
"Liitle Brother" is obviously not even a real State fan. He started his account to troll because he just switched after the win. 1 loss is just that, Hoke does have his work cut out for him but his recruiuting will catch up with State. You can't get inferior talent for 4 years and keep winning football games. Hoke & Co. have had 2 really good classes and another that was good but done in a short recruiting session. this next class will also be top-10 worthy. So, unless Dantonio can find a way to re-enroll Kirk Cousins, he's got trouble brewing. Dantonio has 1-2 more years to have an advantage before the Rich Rod guys are all gone and Hoke's young talent is ready to compete seriously. So, we'll bide our time. I'm not 100% sold on Hoke long-term but he's got talent coming in and winning most of his B1G games. Once the rebuilding is done and we're not transitioning to a pro-style offense we'll be able to get a better idea of whether Hoke is capable of producing a contender. Until then, you are perfectly welcomed to leave your silly comments, LB. As long as you define "great" based on winning 1 particular game you won't ever be able to change your name to "Title Winner." #goblue
He said all of the coach speak he could muster. I don't blame him for the first half. It was close. The 2nd half they didn't do anything differently. It was just like watching the Ohio game last year. Competitive 1st half, no visible adjustments or changes in strategy, and the other team just killed us. Like many people I attribute this to Al Borges but it's Hoke's team. If his coordinator isn't getting it done, take over. I am concerned going forward about his ability to use our talent. That game was winable. His coach speak-isms won't go over so well if in many more big games that's all he has to show for it. In the mean time, we have a young team, and as long as he can show progress I'm going to give him some benefit of the doubt. Because at the end of the day-He's not Rich Rod. ; )
