Win against Iowa and the sky is the limit

The Big 10 Championship is a ginormous game for Michigan football. Michigan has a real chance to win the conference championship but even more important play for a National Championship in a year there will be Clemson, osu and Bama in NYD6 Bowls

The stakes are high, the team is focused and Iowa looms

Go Blue!

Beat Iowa!!

Michigan has a legitimate shot at playing in the National Title game vs Georgia.  If Georgia beats Bama, Cincy handles Houston and Okie State beats Baylor again, which are all most likely to happen, I see the rankings as  1 - Georgia,  2- Mich, 3 and 4 will either be Cincy and Oklahoma State. If Cincy or Oklahoma State falter, Notre Dame I think will slide in.  But other than Georgia, I think Michigan can handle the others and they play the Bulldogs for the title.  All this goes without saying that we need to finish our business with Iowa.

I don't know about Georgia beating Bama.  Saban has an uncanny ability to scheme against former assistants.  Their offensive line is leaky (7 sacks to Auburn yesterday) and they don't have a lot of playmakers apart from Bryce Young but their defense is still good.  Also, Georgia's QB Bennett is basically a zero star (though they have JT Daniels as a backup).  They haven't seen a Saban-like defense since week 1, when they managed just one FG (their only score was a pick 6).  So I can see a defensive struggle, but Saban has the edge in terms of experience.

I have to disagree with you.  Bama has looked somewhat.......human, in quite a few games this year, which is uncharacteristic of a Saban coached team.  Talking about defense, Georgia's D is scary good and with that type of D, all you need from your QB and offense is to be efficient.  No matter how many recruiting stars he has.  Also, if it wasn't for Auburn's complete inability to manage the last 2 minutes of the game, Bama would be 10-2 right now

Beat Iowa.  Win the game.  It means a lot.  Yesterday was awesome.  Elevenwarriors still does not understand Michigan has a really good football team, lol.  Go Blue !

Stroud wasn't sharp, lots of over throws.  Generally the book on him held, little threat to run, and less accurate under pressure.  He's a good one with a bright future but I think OSU fans will fell very much like he didn't play well.

How many times did an OSU receiver catch the ball in stride vs how many times that had to go down and get one, or behind them etc.

Another beauty from 11W:

"Fire the whole defensive staff. Fire Stud. Open competition for every spot. All those jokes about the 3* New England kids. I’d rather have 3*’s who give a damn than 5* kids who are more concerned about selling t-shirts and doing commercials for Ricart. What an absolute joke. Day has some serious questions to answer. The only game all year that matters and that’s the shit you put on the field while getting your dick kicked in for 4 quarters? Woody is rolling in his grave"

Got tickets for Indy and I'll be off the board all week to prepare for the B1G Championship Game (I'm channeling my inner WD right now).

But yeah, unfinished business for our boys in the Winged Helmets. No doubt they and the coaches are doing everything they can this morning to shift the focus to our next goal.

The 〽️ football leadership is in place on the team to make sure it happens!

The title is probably Georgia’s to lose this year with how dominant they’ve been, but their offense is nowhere near as potent as OSU’s. The problem with them would just be trying to score, because you’re not going to move the ball much on those guys.

But hey, anything can happen on any given night.

It is absolutely critical that we don’t turn the ball over this Saturday. If we don’t give them oxygen or short fields it will be hard for them to move the ball against us and put points on the board. Hoping Corum is even closer to 100% this game so we can get back to Thunder and Lightening although Haskins has obviously been an absolute beast these past few weeks. Would love to throw some play action at Iowa after establishing the run. This may be a game where we really rely on the run game though to minimize the chances of turning the ball over. I like our chances away from Kinnick but Iowa doesn’t beat themselves and we will have to take this game to be Big Ten Champions.

This bizarro world playoff scene is great for the college football in general, and Michigan will be poised to benefit from it if they take down Iowa.

This Michigan team fears no one and plays well in every aspect of the game.  There is no insurmountable buzzsaw waiting in the first round of the playoff.  This is a golden opportunity for the program to turn it up a notch and cement itself into the highest echelon of the sport.

Yup. Just beat Iowa.

The truth is I view all of this as gravy now.

Beating Ohio State means another week we typically don't get where we get to live in the moments of Michigan football being talked about nationally in a positive way with something exciting to look forward to. More articles. More TV time. More discussion. More anticipation.

Beating Iowa means an additional month of the exact same.

This Iowa game won’t be easy. They only have two losses this year - Purdue and Wisconsin.  Iowa plays a pesky brand of football. They have a great run defense and they force a lot of turnovers. Michigan will also be the best team that Iowa has faced all year by far.

The National Championship is wide open this year in my view. Georgia looks like they are clearly the best team, but they aren’t as good as Clemson and Bama in recent years. They’ve beat up on a mediocre SEC East and Arkansas. They struggled with a mediocre Clemson.

Cincinnati, Alabama, Notre Dame, and Oklahoma State all look beatable. I wouldn’t be surprised if Michigan ends up in the NC game and plays Georgia closely.

I agree that the opportunity is massive. Everyone needs to understand that yesterday wasn't our Super Bowl, it was a Wild Card game. The real opportunity to move this program forward is ahead of us. Yesterday was just the first hurdle to clear, and as enjoyable as it was/is - if we lose vs Iowa it's all but going to waste.
