Keep it in the game thread.
Returns are are huge part of the game and big returns by Corum and Bell have been the key in this one.
September 4th, 2021 at 1:43 PM ^
This is the type of shit that makes me dismissive of the fire Harbaugh crew
September 4th, 2021 at 1:44 PM ^
User name checks out. Also, "We just Ronnie Bell for the season."
I'm going to Ronnie Bell tomorrow.
September 4th, 2021 at 3:38 PM ^
I'm down.
Where are we Ronnie Bell'ing?
September 4th, 2021 at 1:45 PM ^
First time watching football huh?
September 4th, 2021 at 1:46 PM ^
Why are you the way you are?
September 4th, 2021 at 1:47 PM ^
Just. Stop.
September 4th, 2021 at 1:48 PM ^
They wanted to play the towel boy but ran into a laundry list of problems.
September 4th, 2021 at 1:48 PM ^
I believe this game is going well but there are many other question I have regarding it besides this stupid one. We all hate that Bell got hurt but he could have just as easily gotten hurt running a route.
September 4th, 2021 at 1:48 PM ^
Stupid thread. Well hello since when Harbaugh hasn’t used star players on special teams on the return game.
September 4th, 2021 at 1:49 PM ^
You’re not much of a football fan, are you? Have you seen what he does with the ball? Woodson shouldn’t have either
September 4th, 2021 at 1:49 PM ^
Can we ban this troll yet?
September 4th, 2021 at 1:51 PM ^
TF is wrong with you? You gonna leave AC on the bench too dumbass?
September 4th, 2021 at 1:51 PM ^
Given that Michigan all-stars returning punts for touchdowns are two of the most memorable plays in the last 30ish years of Michigan football, this has got to be one of the dumbest most reactionary takes anywhere in America today.
September 4th, 2021 at 1:51 PM ^
Tell me you don’t understand football without telling me you don’t understand football…
September 4th, 2021 at 1:53 PM ^
It’s still a very competitive football game and guys are trying to get into the flow for the season. If it were Q4 and 49-7, then you could whine.
September 4th, 2021 at 1:53 PM ^
Are you really that stupid? If you are waiting for support in this thread don’t hold your breath.
I won’t bother listing all of the players - including two HEISMAN TROPHY WINNERS - that have returned punts for Michigan over the years.
September 4th, 2021 at 1:54 PM ^
Because he was the best player on that team at performing that important duty?
FOH.
September 4th, 2021 at 1:56 PM ^
Because he’s good at it. My goodness people. Bunch a captain Hindsights here
September 4th, 2021 at 1:56 PM ^
You are an idiot.
September 4th, 2021 at 2:04 PM ^
This stupid argument is definitely worth its own thread.
September 4th, 2021 at 2:05 PM ^
I guess last year's Heisman Trophy winning WR shouldn't have returned punts, either.
September 4th, 2021 at 7:45 PM ^
This was my first thought too. Waddle was returning punts the year before. But Saba clearly doesn’t know what the hell he is doing.
September 4th, 2021 at 2:05 PM ^
This is trash, OP, and you know it.
September 4th, 2021 at 2:10 PM ^
Exactly! Desmond Howard never returned punts!
September 4th, 2021 at 2:10 PM ^
This is not only a stupid take, but the completely incorrect take. And you doubled down on it.
this thread is likely going to turn into a posbang for everyone telling you how moronic and wrong you are, and a simultaneous negbang for you
September 4th, 2021 at 2:14 PM ^
The only think inexcusable is this dumb take. You should feel shame.
September 4th, 2021 at 2:14 PM ^
The only think inexcusable is this dumb take. You should feel shame.
September 4th, 2021 at 2:15 PM ^
Idk. Ask OSU why does the same thing.
Or when UM let Howard and Woodson do it.
Such a reactionary take. You'd be bitching if a true frosh fumbled a punt and saying JH should put a veteran like Bell out there. Your upset like the rest of us, but jeesh man.
September 4th, 2021 at 2:15 PM ^
Because if he can make plays and score points, you get him back there fielding punts.
Ronnie, by all accounts, is a guy who can do that.
September 4th, 2021 at 2:18 PM ^
Oh oh oh...can I answer this one, please?
WTF man, you really can't see why a star wide out returns punts?
September 4th, 2021 at 2:20 PM ^
Say you don't know anything about football without saying you don't know anything about football
September 4th, 2021 at 2:21 PM ^
get your top dogs on the field. injuries occur in football, unfortunately. different story if hes catching kicks with 9 min left in a blowout.
harbaugh usually likes an interesting mix of starters on ST coupled with handful of walkons. i guess its part of how he builds his desired culture. id rather see promising scholarship backups gaining confidence and staying engaged via ST role than senior walkon TE or FB with limited upside however i can see counterpoints.
bottom line, trust your depth and take advantage of big play potential on kicks with athletes like bell back there. fingers crossed its minor - sucks to see seniors go down
September 4th, 2021 at 2:21 PM ^
Jabrill Peppers returned punts, too.
September 4th, 2021 at 2:30 PM ^
I don't know. Why did Anthony Carter, Charles Woodson and Desmond Howard return punts?
September 4th, 2021 at 2:31 PM ^
I forgot about A.C. He was far and away the best receiver on the team at the time.
September 4th, 2021 at 2:30 PM ^
Didnt Tyrone Wheatley get hurt on special teams one year?
September 4th, 2021 at 2:32 PM ^
Brutal sport, brutal things happen
September 4th, 2021 at 2:34 PM ^
Because we have to catch them.
And don't count him out for the season.
September 4th, 2021 at 2:37 PM ^
Because players play. Jesus, you let them play the game
September 4th, 2021 at 2:41 PM ^
Dumbest take ever? Probably.
September 4th, 2021 at 2:41 PM ^
What a ridiculous OP. Guys unfortunately get hurt. He got hurt running the football and getting tackled, Judy like he could playing receiver. It sucks. But it’s football.
September 4th, 2021 at 2:48 PM ^
Another coaching expert speaks
September 4th, 2021 at 2:48 PM ^
Because the University of fucking Michigan has NEEEEEVER had a star player returning punts.
Idiot.
September 4th, 2021 at 4:00 PM ^
I can think of Steve Breaston (sp)
September 4th, 2021 at 5:22 PM ^
I can think of Desmond Howard and Charles Woodson running PUNTS back against OSU, two of the most iconic plays in our schools history. Especially Dez.
September 4th, 2021 at 3:20 PM ^
Why are football players even playing football?

Not so fast on losing him for the season. We don't know what we don't know as just after the game.
September 4th, 2021 at 4:06 PM ^
You mean, like a once In a lifetime player like Charlie Woodson, or Desmond Howard! You put your best players on the field.
