Who's interested in a 2016 Football Mini-Helmet? [UPDATE: Making one more batch for Christmas]

Submitted by M2NASA on

Update: Since I've still been receiving emails about the helmets and the feedback on the ones completed has been good, I'm going to make one more batch for Christmas.  Because of the high fees on eBay I'm moving over to Etsy.  I'm going to do another batch of 30.  I posted a link on eBay as well, but the price on Etsy is lower because of the fees.

Delivery will be by December 20th at the latest, hopefully much earlier

I understand you can also purchase satin helmet version thru MDen but they won't have the level of detail that I put in.

If you're interested in making a helmet for yourself, I included directions in the original posting here:  http://mgoblog.com/mgoboard/mgoartsandcrafts-edited-those-interested-one

[Mods, please delete if this type of consumerism is not allowed, before you send me to Bolivia]

You may want to contact UM for guidance to make sure they don't send you a cease & desist or come after you for lost revenue (not sure they'd be that petty, but you never know).

As a reference, here is the page from the University of S Carolina which discusses the "crafters license" which may be relevant to your situation. The link at bottom, "Program Fees," shows their fee schedule.

Michigan State has a different fee schedule, a flat $100, and you also need to buy official holograms ($5 for 50).

Anyway, google "crafters license" and you'll find the sites of several universities with their fee schedules. The UM site is, sadly, pretty unhelpful in this regard. Best bet is probably to contact UM (Kristen Ablauf) directly to ask about a crafters license and if you need one, given that you're now modifying a licensed product and reselling it.

I really don't like the use of the site for job postings or selling stuff etc.... in this case, however, I'm just really impressed by the work.

Serious question (and sorry if I missed you already posting this) but how large are these 'mini helmets'? Can you put them in a picture with something else as a frame of reference? Look great though.

You sir...are going to be busy!  And, very good at making these helmets.  Nice work!  As one of the first, if not the first, to suggest selling these and the $100 price I expect mine has a few extra helmet stickers to do #5 right by!

I am in no way trying to "thread jack" you, but I also make custom Michigan memorabilia. Would you be interested in trading for something like this?
