Where to watch UM-MSU Game in London?

Submitted by VamosAzul on October 15th, 2018 at 6:42 AM

I am going to be in London this week for work and I would love to find a Michigan bar to watch the UM-MSU game! None listed on the alumni site... any recommendations?

There was a sports bar on Haymarket below Piccadilly Circus where I used to watch games.  A few UM fans would show up there about 15 yrs ago.  Can't remember the name but it was on the southwest side of the street toward the Pall Mall.

According to the UK alumni group Facebook page, Belushi's London Bridge is the place to be.

Can't paste link from mobile, so search for the group on Google or Facebook.

Edit: it looks like The Loose Box is the other watch location. They haven't posted details for this Saturday yet, but it should be one of those two. Keep an eye on that page or get in touch with the person who runs the group and coordinates the watch parties.

The alumni group meet at Belushi's London Bridge when I was there, and it looks like they still do.

They were in the basement the one time I was in London for a game.

Yeah I don't know how someone could read this as place dropping. Going to London for business is not exactly out of this world unusual for many Michigan grads (especially Ross). Now if he (she)'s saying it was for pleasure, that's maybe different. Like I have the resources to spend to go somewhere. That's great, bud.. But doing so on your employer's tab doesn't even mean much. Let's not get all snowflakey, seems like a valid question.

I watched the Maryland game at Belushi's last weekend. We were probably the only people watching the game, but there were tons of TVs, and they were super cool about finding the game.

You've got to figure that the alums will come out for the msu game, though. Also, the fact that kickoff will be 5pm BST should help the turnout.

I'll be in London early November, but back by Friday afternoon. Flew to Amsterdam a few weeks ago, but fortunately, the flight was well after the Nebraska game ended.

Others have covered the - where to watch with others in public aspect of it.  But if you're struggling to get the game at all, mgoarchive streams each of the games each week.  So if you're in a pinch and cant find it at all.  Get in touch with the streaming crew for a link.
