we're here

you wanna hear a story?

we live in a world

where society has poisoned the souls of men

they hover over us like a dark cloud

we can't do nothing bout it though

'cause we're just everyday workin' people

those in power

they get down on their hands and knees to talk to us

and they proclaim their lies

and whisper secrets to each other 'bout what's best

but see

we normal folk

we got secrets of our own

like what's gonna happen

when we decide it's time

when we decide to walk upright

what are you gonna do then?

oh i know the answer

you're gonna run and hide

but we're comin'

send us your rejects and broken souls

just don't send anyone you want to come back

when they see the face of fear

they never come back

anywhere mary went

the lambs were sure to go

but not to slaughter

no

to prosperity

we're here

Ok people this thread is about the post the other day about the 2016 future recruits and some comments that were made. I’m not going to go into depth because I don't want to be banned my self. It's on the main page if you choose to go look.

The posters that made some "different" comments they were banned. Some of the posters were part of another Michigan blog called Wolverine Liberation Army otherwise known as WLA. Brian said the posters were already on thin ice due to previous issues with postings.

Brian made a post yesterday about those comments and the effects they had on a recruit.

(The recruit is perfectly fine and is hopefully still going to visit Michigan)

This thread was started by a fellow WLA member trying to say as Geaux_Blue said it, "a passive aggressive ominous post to be clever"

I could be wrong but, I am pretty sure this is what this is….

I don't find it particularly passive or aggressive. I think it's cute, actually. Also clever, fun, and nostalgic.

Seems partly inspired by dada principles of shaking up the establishment by being silly, as well as Kesey/Further inspired principles of "freaking out the squares" (i.e., newer blog patrons who weren't around for the wackiness and irreverance of the early days of the blog). I'm sure part of it is also ego gratification and a reminder to Brian that they do still have a following and some "power," whatever that means in the blogosphere.

In any case, I planned on going to sleep 1 hr ago before I got sucked into reading this thread. It was worth it, especially if it gets deleted tomorrow.

A few years ago....I lost 40 MGO points on a thread where I criticized B Cissoko for his off the field arrests. All of the blue bloods here were angered with my post. Let me take this opportunity to ask you this: Guess who was fucking right? Please restore my 40 worthless MGO points.   Yes, I am still mad about this. Haha..................................... Another thing, I read the 300 something posts in this thread. This WLA posse sounds like a bunch of bitch ass clowns. If these were some of the guys that Brian banned, then Brian is a damn genius.

You do realize you just volanteerily joined this colossas circle jerk, don't you?

I just wanted to point that out.

If you think about the entire reason for a blog and user participation is entertainment.  And say what you wll about the WLA dudes - they are VERY entertaining.  I havent looked forward to reading comments in a thread as much as this one in a long time.

Well technically that's not entirely true.  I also looked forward to reading Brian's angry thread to see who else might have been MgoExecuted during the great user cleansing of 2013.

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,

That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.
