It helps that the schedule is longer than it used to be (in the pre-BTT era we'd play 28-30 games before) but yeah, that's impressive.
but the OP's info is incorrect, we finished 25-4 in the regular season in 1986 and went 1-1 in the NCAA's to finish 26-4, this is the most wins before the tourney so that part is right.
LoL ... you posted to criticize his accuracy, and then told us that 25-4 + 1-1 = 26-4
sorry it was a typo
a high seed. They are likely to have some cushion--knock wood--with whoever they're playing.
Unchartered is where the SS Minnow went before it landed on Gilliagan's Island.
What a coincidence though that they would land on Gilligan's Island while having a first mate with the uncommon name of "Gilligan."
Ginger was the stuck up movie star but Mary Anne was that Kansas cutie.
Whether Michigan's Men's Basketball Team Is In Un-Charted Waters or It's On An Un-Chartered Fligtht, they know how to add four more wins in the Big Ten Tournament to its chart.
Michigan just keeps getting better and better. I truly feel this is Beilein's finest coaching job.
On to the tournament!
I dont think anyone would have predicted 28 wins back in December. The growth from this team has been one for the ages. Fantastic coaching and developing and fantastic attitude and work ethic by the players. This has been a very satisfying season.
They just had a grueling 4 days to win it all..now REST..Enjoy it..and becuse of the longer period they can enjoy this for a few days and have plenty of time to rest and prepare
I hope this time off gives Livers a chance to get back to 100%.
Not lose @Northwestern. Not lose vs. LSU, which would have set up a matchup against Notre Dame instead of Chaminade.
I'm worried that there is going to be a 1000-post, expletive-filled thread here next Sunday. This team has been great the past few weeks, and the predictive systems love it right now -- but the rest of the country still has a week to catch up, and those ugly losses will stain the résumé. The RPI -- which is certainly more friendly now than it looked like it would be a couple of weeks back -- has Michigan at #13 (high 4 seed)... and, again, that's with other teams having a chance to play and pass Michigan.
Incidentally -- if you really want something to be angry about -- if you took Alabama A&M, Jacksonville, and UC Riverside, and you replaced them with Miami (OH), Ohio, and Bowling Green... assuming Michigan still won those games, they'd be 8th in the RPI.
Boy it sure should've. If Michigan isn't in the top 12 teams in the country after beating number 2 and 8, I might just mail an overnight box full of shit to the NCAA headquarters.
the most wins we have had in one season...chart that!
when the season started I was telling everyone this team would have 28 wins going into the tournament. I don't know why anyone is suprised by this. /s
Isn't there some sort of NCAA rule against it? If not, I'd definitely buy one... or four.
Yes, there is.
They just don't sell the jerseys with the names on the back, simply the number. But everyone knows that is their jersey.. the players just don't gain anything from it.
The week off can help the team rest up, work on offense and FT. Our only weakness going into the tournament is our FT shooting. I hope this can improve during a full week of practice.
