Warde to skip CFP meeting as he handles "Important matters regarding the ongoing investigation"

SIAP, I looked and didn't see anything.  Warde was interviewed on his plans for the rankings this evening and said he would be missing this week as he will stay in Ann Arbor "Attending to important matters regarding the ongoing investigation into our football program".  So it does appear he's doing 'something'  but no word on what exactly that is.

Well, I may get negged for this, but it's possible that Santa Ono asked Warde Manuel to keep a low profile on this and focus on the nuts and bolts, while Ono stepped up to be the main spokesman for the University.  There would be two advantages to this:

1. As President of the University as a whole Ono's presence would convey the image of an entire university -- including student body and scholars, not just athletes and athletic department staff -- who are united in defending Harbaugh and insisting that he get a fair shake.

2. Manuel could focus on keeping the athletic department running as smoothly as possible during the mayhem, and make sure the lawyers and investigators got whatever they need.

Or maybe Manuel is just a weakling.  But it has to be said that Ono has been stellar as the face of the University.  I do think that his position as University President has helped him with that.
