UCLA is making some waves in recruiting

Submitted by MinorforPresident on
They pulled 4 commitments tonight from officials this weekend including two decommitments from other programs. If they end up getting Randall Carrol away from USC (which experts are saying is going to happen) then they will have a top 5 class this year. Neuheisel must have some recruiting magic.

i didnt look deep but this years recruiting class doesnt look much different than years past. several 4 stars with a bunch of 3 stars to finish the class. randall carrol would be a big deal but past that im not overly impressed

Nice little article out here on the west coast about Nieuheisel being up to his old tricks. Something like he is hinting at things to potential recruits about other programs that are not true. He is poison

When it comes to the campus, UCLA is a paradise compared to USC. I think the change in coaches at USC is causing some concern for some recruits plus the playing opportunities UCLA has over USC.

UCLA is undoubtedly way more beautiful. The school is gorgeous, there is a reason the Rose Bowl is so popular. But when I visited both schools campuses though, I saw more hot girls at USC...

they already ripped the #1 TE Morrell Pressley away from a USC commitment. Here's to a PAC 10 finally challenging USC (sans Oregon State)

In every other region, there are multiple teams that are strong: winning programs, tradition, etc...Consequently those teams battle for the top recruits in their region. USC has had the luxury over the past ten years of having NO ONE in any proximity who can compete realistically for a plethora of west coast athletes. Success and location have subsequently contributed to major pulls from other regions. If location were the only factor, these teams would have been recruiting evenly all along. (This argument also stands to refute the "oh my god its snowing" thread). If UCLA can put a reasonable team on the field, we SHOULD see some shake up in the PAC10. If tricky ricky is up to shenanigans, let pete carrol fight that out. Either way, it won't affect our recruiting on the West Coast much. Kids who want to get away will do that - and the best ones will want to find the best programs...which we will be....soon.
