Diesel has unfortunately gone over the rainbow bridge.  One unfair thing about the world is that the average dog lifespan is ~ 10-15% as long as the average human lifespan.

But NIU did built a statue of Diesel 2 years ago!

Mission is the name of their new live mascot.  Like all dogs, he has his own Twitter page.  I saw him live once, on the sidelines when NIU played Duke in the 2017 Motor City Bowl.

Both older kids went/go to Eastern. Younger one is graduating in December from EMU. Older one graduated two years ago and just graduated with Masters from Univ of Bonn in Germany. Home for 3 months until he heads back for his PhD. We will spend Thanksgiving Weekend in Ypsi, with all four kids (kid 3 is at Albion and last one graduating HS in May). Alas, football will be on the tv that weekend. No Big House for this M alum (and UM wifey alum).

Watching game on TV and rooting for the Eagles. Go EMU!

Is Sparty scouting any of these teams for the Quick Lane Bowl in the D later this year?

Probably not a good idea to look past Rutgers or Maryland - Sparty hasn't won a game since September.

I will never understand why nobody has taken a run at Chris Creighton yet.  He's going to take Eastern to three bowls in four years.  That's basically like winning conference titles anywhere else.

As a BG grad who worked as an ATC during the Meyer years this is no bueno. I just hate how a MAC team can sustain at least being average to good for many years. It's get a good, under the radar coach, a few fluke recruits and hang on for a 2-4 year ride...then crash. Bummer.
