Too much red
I've seen so much bitching on this blog about students showing up late. Well guess what was the only part of the stadium that didn't sell off their tickets en masse to the enemy. So my proposals:
Non students have to show ID to get in
Seating is based on attendance, including other sports, and showing up on time, but no matter what, it will be corner endzone
"Validation stickers" can be bought in person at select times/locations for double the price
Sound familiar?

They've done it too MSU also. It's more than just too big of an alotment. It's idiots selling their tickets.

For both MSU and OSU we had opposing fans filling the row directly in front of us and directly behind us.
I would enjoy some kind of benefit for our loyalty. Especially after yesterday.

OSU's allotment was a tiny fraction of the problem. There was solid chunks of red throughout the entire stadium.

How bout when customers don't do what you want or buy enough you just hit them until they comply.

in a long time. Is it still too much? Sure, but I haven't heard any great solutions other than cutting their allotment. However it is possible that if we did that it would drive up secondary market demand such that OSU fans would bid up prices inducing even more UM fans to sell.

About 20% of the people posting get what the point of this is.

I've been to Michigan road games @ Msu, ND, NW, Iowa, and have been to Columbus for The Game three times (2004, 2006, and 2008). I can tell you right now that it's much more fun to go when the team is good and has a good chance at winning. Forking out money for tickets, hotel, and transportation is simply not as likely when the team is struggling. I don't think that makes me a fair weather fan, as no one wants to spend all that money and see their team get demolished.
I will also add that Columbus is an absolute dump compared to Ann Arbor. And the way you're treated in that town as a Michigan fan is unreal. Say whatever you want, but spending that much money to literally feel unsafe for two days straight just isn't worth it. 2006 was especially ridiculous as cops simply looked the other way when things were happening to Michigan fans. Now that I live on the West Coast, it's hard to envision ever going to another game in Columbus. I may only make it to 1 game every couple years, and I sure as hell won't be spending that trip in Columbus with all those people.
If Michigan can turn the tides of the rivalry and start beating OSU regularly in Ann Arbor, I guarantee we'll see less red in the stadium. OSU taking a step back would help as well. But until then, this will continue to be a problem. Sorry for the long post. Go Blue!

to stop caring about what other people do with their time, money, and personal scheduling.
Other than the official alottment given to the opposing AD as dictated by B1G rules, there weren't many tickets used by OSU fans on saturday that couldn't have been purchased by an M fan.

one's OSU tickets up for sale is the equivalent of that person saying "I don't like it."
Most season ticket holders are paying for their seats 6 months before toe meets leather. People's lives are fluid, things/plans/schedules/circumstances change. As a wise man once said, "Life's what happens while you're busy making other plans."
Rather than complaining about the number of opposing fans who were resourceful and bought tickets on the secondary market, those Michigan fans who feel it's a big deal should encourage their friends to buy tickets and go to the game instead, leaving less tickets available for those damned RedCoats. If they balk at prices, and OSU fans buy them instead, M fan only has their cheap selves to blame.
Nothing is stopping M fan from flooding the HorseShoe with maize and blue, either.

I mean it's only fair right? Not like people should be allowed to buy or sell things willy-nilly without the approval of the masses.

they are a site sponsor so let's use them, right?
I sold a few MD tix this year via TiqIQ that went to UM fans. It's a great site that separates dealers from individual sellers. Potential buyers make contact with sellers and work out payment and sale details. It was easy to know if they were UM fans. Also, I use Facebook friend request to verify the other person is a real person, etc.
We NEED to do better making the MGoBlog tix spreadsheet more prominent and the first stop for MGoBlog users.

(To the board, sorry for my rant, but this stubhub shit has to end. I may give my tickets to Robert bashara next year in order to return the favor. Yesterday was ruined in more ways than the play on the field.

I took a couple of pictures to note how how red there was and even given the red stands out more than navy blue argument (which is true) there seemed to be a lot more. The bigger problem was that at the end of the game, there was more red than blue. Granted it was cold and even I wanted to leave, but you have to stay to the end. Can't give the stadium away.

Red shows up more. Plus Michigan fans are not all wearing blue, not as consistently as some of these other teams. Some wear blue, some maize, some white. But it was 40 degrees out, so people are wearing their cold weather gear, whether that be black or brown or blue or whatever.

The real problem on Saturday was the number of points OSU put up at will. You fix that, you fix the "too much red" issue.
