Time for a win

Seems as if we believe a win is firing someone for losing around here.

Fuck Rutgers. Win the game.

Rutgers has some serious problems if they don't win by at least 28. I'm guessing all of those points will come off turnovers, though. I don't see us scoring any TDs in this game because unlike Minnesota Rutgers actually has some studs on defense and on offense too.

For the first time in my life I don't know if I care anymore, and also for the first time I have zero optimism that we can beat any given team. If this was still Lloyd's team (or even RR) I would be hopeful we could pull off a run; but I'm not, and that's sad. Going camping, and will watch the game tomorrow.

Gosh I'm so pissed today. The tigers blew yesterday's game. Watching OSU, those bastards cheated like hell for years, then they get urban and we get hoke. They look so good, 50 something points on the road, we have combined to score that in forever, meanwhile our head coach REFUSES to wear a headset so he can coach up the kids better and be more hands on, yeah, that's really working. Just pisses me off, I end like 5 or 6 wins in a row

Even if the final score is 4-3 (two safeties vs. a field goal) and the hockey team outscores the football team tonight, a win will at least:
  • Guarantee that this season’s record will be no worse than the worst season of the previous coaching regime
  • Provide Michigan’s current head coach with a rare road win
  • Provide Michigan’s current head coach with a rare upset win
  • Provide Michigan Football Team 135 with a win against a “Power Five Conference” team
  • Elevate Michigan Football Team 135 to a .500 record (3-3 overall; 1-1 in conference)

All a win would do is create some doubt about whether or not to fire this clapping clown! It would literally be putting an air freshener on a piece of shit.

I hope we lose EVERY game from here on out.

I told myself I wasn't sure if I wanted to watch the game today. I woke up excited like I am for every Michigan football Saturday and I can't not watch it. Ride or die with this team right now. We all have our frustrations with the leaders of the program but these young men need our support. I'm am pumped, I got my food and beer ready and I'll be ready for whatever happens. Win or lose, love all these players. Hail, hail to Michigan.

I'm in the whole, can't make up my mind crowd. I want to root and cheer for all these kids so badly, but I can't stand the thought of Hoke right now. I will cheer for Michigan, just like every other Saturday, but I do not think we will win this game. Rutgers is a decent team, and simply put, we are not.

I have no idea what to make of this game. Anything could happen.

We could come out pissed off and destroy them.

We could come out totally lifeless and just lay down.

Or anything in-between.

Just please win though.

at this point of a season. At this point in 2008 we were only 2-3, but we had beaten #9 Wisconsin at home and our sixth game was against supposed MACky cake Toledo. Discontent was certainly building already, but there were still plenty of people who were optimistic about the future with RR. After five games in 2009 we were 4-1, and while we had just gotten beaten by MSU, it wasn't a blowout at 20-26. There was less optimism because of the previous season, but there were still those who held out hope because "RR always gets it going in his second year." In 2010 at this point we were 5-0 with two good wins over UConn and ND, but by now a good portion of the fanbase was skeptical. Still, we were 5-0 and RR partisans were still in his corner, albet a shrinking one.

But the gloom and pessimism that I see, hear, read, and sense today far outweighs what I remember from back then. Maybe I've just conveniently forgotten how bad it was, but for it to be this bad just five games in is ominous.

Based on what I saw in the stadium against Utah, and what little I saw of the game against Minnesota, my fear is that the pessimism has infected the players. There's no evidence that I've seen that Hoke has the force of personality necessary to counteract a faltering psychology, and coupled with what appears to be substandard coaching at key position groups, that's a deadly situation.
