Ticket Purchasing Help

Submitted by APMGoBlue on

I can't find the post that tells me how and when to buy tickets... I thought Seth put something together a while back but I am struggling with the search function on the site.  Here's my situation:

I want to go to the Hawaii game and need two tickets. If you were me, sitting on the outside looking in, do you buy now on stub hub or show up at the game hoping to buy them off a scalper? I haven't gone in (far too many) years so I am beyond rusty on the best method. Not too picky other than not wanting to be in either endzone.

Thanks in advance...

I have tickets that I would like be willing to sell.  Was getting ready to start looking at how to do this but you beat be to it!

I think the Seth thing is actually a bit old.

I don't think you should have a problem buying tickets from scalpers. If you buy from someone on the corner of Main and Stadium 5 minutes before kickoff they should get decently cheap.

I'm not a broker, but last year I purchased roughly 100 total tickets, all from the secondary market, used a pair to the MSU and OSU games, and sold the rest.

Last year, I thought a young, but decent Oregon State visiting the Big House, coupled with Coach Harbaugh's first game/home opener would be a hot ticket.  I purchased 14 tickets for that game hoping to sell for $100/ticket (33% above face value of $75).

I sold 6 tickets (decent corner sections, 40 rows up or so) in August for $115/ticket average.  The remaining eight I was scrambling to sell in the days leading up to the game.  I finally sold them, maybe 3-5 days before the game, for $57/ticket average, and felt lucky to do so, as the market was flooded.

I purchased and sold 100% through Craigslist.

TL;DR  Wait until about 1-3 days before the game to purchase.

I wanted to post something about this, but I'm guessing the only option for MSU tickets would be stubhub/scalpers/personal sellers, right? I'm assuming Michigan's allotment for tickets was sold out when season tickets are renewed. Is there a possibility of more tickets being offered through MGoBlue?

I'm also looking for two tickets to the Hawaii game (as cheap as possible). I want to take my 7 year old daughter to her first Michigan game. If anyone has any extras, please let me know!

Have been burned by scalpers before, I recommend another option. With everything being digital, make sure a ticket is either getting transferred to you or purchase from stubhub or Michigan directly.

Bought hard season stock tickets from someone only to be denied at the gate because he transferred them to someone else. $150 down the drain.
