There are...
...days until Rocky Rosema (DE/LB 1965-1968) supports Michigan in spirit as they host the Broncos of Western Michigan on September 4th at the Big House to begin the 2021 season.

Go Blue.
Today's video shouts out Bennie Joppru, perhaps the most notable of the #83s...
Thanks WH. Enjoy as always!
Today's ticket stub honors another notable early-season game from that year of 2002:
God bless Phil Brabbs for making the game winning field goal. Also thanks for UW for too many men on the field penalty setting up the kick.
I've posted before how the crowd gave sarcastic cheers whenever the kickers made a practice FG during the halftime break... I guess all the bad kicking set up the drama for the final FG?
I want it All! And I want it now.
I like how he's standing there with Bump and probably thinking, "I know....I don't think a wing-T looks like that either. More of a wing-ampersand there really...."
ampers and wings
and cabbages and kings
I like the numbers on the helmet (more than stickers.)
Can’t forget about 1973 co-captain Paul Seal…
Rosema’s wiki bio says he passed at 73 from dementia, and it’s hard not to wonder whether his football career and CTE was a factor.
I wonder about that also. Rosema passed away in January 2020 at 73, so he likely started showing signs of dementia in his late 60's.
What really caught my attention, though, was the info in the linked articles about his battles with the NFL, the NFLPA, and the Cardinals organization to try to collect his pension. While I don't know and haven't looked yet for anything more info than what those few articles provide, it is truly sad that he was denied his NFL pension on what appears to be a technicality, and that he was stonewalled by both the league that profited from him and the union who should have watched out for him and his best interests.
