Sweet 16 Scheduling?
It makes sense that they would do it that way, but... well, you know. NCAA.
I am pretty sure they haven't said one way or the other that they are definitely doing it that way, but I would give about a 95 percent chance that is how it happens.
No that's never how it's gone. Things completely reset after the 2nd (3rd) round. I suppose this year could be different because of the situation but there is no past precedence for it go that route.
BYU does not play on Sundays so if the schedules are already set, UM's region would be on Saturday again
This is for real?
I found this .
BYU, which is owned by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saint, doesn't compete on Sundays per its Honor Code. It doesn't even hold team practices.

So msu will knock them out then, amirite?
Usually it is announced in advance but I couldn't find it online. With everyone in Indiana they don't need to schedule it in advance. Perhaps they are waiting to see what works best in their mind for TV.
There would be a switch in times if BYU advances to the Sweet 16:
That plan would involve swapping the East and Midwest Regions’ dates. The East would play its games on March 27 (Saturday) and March 29 (Monday).
It would be “a move that would reduce the region’s days of rest between games to four — and the Midwest would play the Sunday-Tuesday stretch, allowing those teams to gain an additional day of rest between games (six),” Medcalf wrote.
“That contingency will only be utilized in the event that BYU were to advance to the Sweet 16,” Dan Gavitt, the NCAA’s men’s basketball vice president, said on NCAA.com. “If they do not, then there would be no change to dates for any teams for regionals.”
Article about it:
how many of these posts are we going to see? There was one earlier on the 2nd round game times and locations.
Nobody knows yet, it's not been announced. On my Michigan basketball Vegas tournament thread someone actually asked what time Michigan plays, on Friday, November 19th!!!
Pretty sure if you can't find the answers to these questions from a google search you're not going to find them on this board. Just chill out and wait like the rest of us.
I just learned something from the post above your worthless post.
I think they re-seed for the round of 16. And since the NCAA loves Michigan, Michigan has to replay any game they win on the the following Monday. I think.
All the Midwest and South region 1st and 2nd round games are Fri/Sunday and the West and East regions are Sat/Monday.
See TV schedules.
To keep rest days standard, the Midwest and South Sweet Sixteen/E8 will be Saturday/Monday and the West and East (Michigan) will be Sunday/Tuesday with an exception in the event BYU advances to Sweet 16. In that case, East and Midwest will swap Sweet 16/Elite 8 days.
See link about the BYU contingency plan.
The first round will be Friday and Saturday. (Usually it's Thursday and Friday but...go figure) Friday's winners play Sunday. Saturday's winners play Monday.
