Cali's Goin' Blue

"Everybody is chomping at the bit to prove to the coaches what they can do and are capable of. That was very evident in the 4-hour practice today."

Literally could've come out of the mouth of Harbaugh and I wouldn't have batted an eye. Great quote about the mindset of the team and even greater to see our QB thinking and talking like Harbaugh.

Highly rated white quarterback resembles other highly rated white quarterback? I thought we only did this with WR's......

Speaking of which, I've heard Oliver Martin is looking a lot like Wes Welker in camp

/Did I do it right?

ED: Also reminds me of a coaches son who brings his lunch pail to outwork all the other guys and shows up first and leaves last and brings great sneaky athleticism and is a real headsy player.

/OK now I did it right

There are always exceptions to stereotypes and insensitive descriptors or judgements. What are you talking about? All white people or black people or any people aren't one thing or don't all like/dislike one thing. Why are you pointing this out? Also it is FACT that those descriptors are used more to define white or black players. Look it up there was a huge study done on comments leading up to the NFL Draft awhile back too. Kind of disturbing when you see it side-by-side...huh? But again, no one said it was a certainty. Well no one with any decency.

Explaining the humor?

Your comprehension is TERRIBLE today.

That wasn't a joke and neither was the original post you responded to...it was me stating a fact. There a usually exceptions to most sterotypes. Do all black people like fried chicken? No. All white people can't dance? No.

So you pointing out Jabrill Peppers was stupid. THAT is what I was saying - it doesn't make the sterotype or frequent descriptor any less accurate by finding an exception. Do you think JJ Watt has never been called a "freak" or "monster?" Of course not. I heard Derrick Walton called "GRITTY" 3 times in one half last week.

So...in conclusion.

1. Your response to my first post talking about Don Brown and Jabrill Peppers was pointless - there are plenty of exceptions. But the research shows black players are called certain things more freqently than white players and vice versa.

2. What the hell are you talking about having to explain humor? There was no humor.

But I'm glad we both don't care about the color of a player's skin...didn't know we had to state that, but since we do - count me in the boat with you who just want elite players who can play. But I feel like most people want that. So stating it doesn't really carry any weight any more than saying "I like food" in my mind. It's like, uh, awesome, me too.

That nice & thoughtful sounding young man is the same Maurice Hurst that rubs his belly enthusiastically after each beastly sack? Kid's got some serious Jekyll and Hyde, lol.

I almost find it a shame that they won't have the Spring Game in the Coliseum, and since they would occasionally flood the place, a Game complete with an old-school naval battle recreated afterwards with one trireme commanded by Harbaugh himself. I'll take Michigan Stadium as a suitable replacement though, and maybe we can still get the naval battle afterwards.

Just about every single job on the team is up for grabs with so many starters no longer on the team.

It's a hell of a feeding frenzy out there.

Like piranhas in a pond.
