Softball Regional Finals: M vs ND (BTN @ 2pm)
The Regional Finals are on BTN at 2pm. We play ND, who beat Miami (OH) 5-0 in the losers bracket yesterday.
If we win our Regional today, we will play 15th seeded Missouri (42-14). Missouri won their Regional in convincing fashion this weekend. As a matter of fact, Mizzu was the first team in the modern SuperRegional History to mercy-rule all 3 opponents while not allowing a run.
We defeated Mizzu 13-0 back on 03MAR16 at the Judi Garman Classic. Mizzu has not done well with ranked teams during conference play this year (7-9). They split with #6 Alabama, went 2-3 against #16 Tennessee, went 0-3 versus #10 Georgia, was 1-2 with #12 Kentucky. They swept #16 Texas A&M in 3. They lost to SC in the opening game of the SEC tournament 7-4, but went 2-3 vs SC in the regular season.
Mizzu only faced one ranked team in non-conference play. The lost to #7 Oregon 8-7.
We have to get through ND today before we can worry about Mizzu. The IF game will be later today, "if" needed.
If only we could've beaten them all three times. :(

Onward to the NC.
Auburn, Alabama and LSU all advance without much drama.
Great win today. Great to see Falk throw out a runner and great to see Susalla break out of that mini-slump. Again, it wasn't a blowout but we were in no danger of losing this game whatsoever. Saving runs for bigger games coming up.
Next up is 15 Missouri in the NCAA Ann Arbor Super Regional next weekend.
The dates and times will be announced once all of the regionals are concluded today.
We played Missouri earlier in the season and destroyed them 13-0 in 5 innings.
I don't expect Missouri to go down as easily as they did earlier this season. They've been playing like a team possessed so far this post-season. I fully expect us to win. But I expect them to put up a decent fight this time around.

The regionals are complete, and only two host schools (Tennessee & Kentucky) lost (to Arizona & Utah, respectively).
Super-regional matchups:
#16 Georgia at #1 Florida
Utah at #8 Florida State
#12 UCLA at #5 Oregon
Arizona at #4 Auburn
#14 Louisiana-Lafayette at #3 Oklahoma
#11 Washington at #6 Alabama
#10 Louisiana State at #7 James Madison
#15 Missouri at #2 Michigan
For obvious reasons, and because I live about five miles north of Missouri, I hope we absolutely smash Mizzou. As we say here, if you took the lower two tiers of counties from Iowa and exchanged them with the top two tiers of Missouri counties, the average IQ's of both states would go up by about 30 points.
