Shea Patterson #3 in NFL.com's Heisman Watch List
NFL.com has Shea Patterson listed as the #3 Heisman candidate for 2018, behind Bryce Love, RB Stanford at #2, and Will Grier, QB West Virginia at #1.

Patterson admittedly has some potential, but there are far too many question marks about our offense to warrant rating him this highly. IF the OL improves and IF the young receivers make progress, our offense could be pretty good. Just too many moving pieces right now to put him in the top three for the Heisman.
I saw Bryce Love play last year and that kid is crazy good. He'll probably get the no one watches the West Coast handicap, but that guy could move.
I hate to say it, but I'm getting sick of our yearly pre-season honors. It's mostly clickbait because we have a large fanbase.
The B1G hasn't had a QB drafted in the first round since Kerry Collins. Connor Cook was supposed to be a lock going into his senior year, and even after making the playoffs he fell significantly. I've seen both Lewerke and Patterson being discussed as potential first round picks next spring. Still a lot of football to be played. Before last season Sam Darnold was the sure fire #1 overall pick, Josh Allen was this guy from Wyoming that a few people talked about, and there were questions if Baker would even be a viable NFL QB.
How often on the field success in college translates to the NFL draft varies significantly. Mitchell Trubisky was drafted ahead of DeShaun Watson; the best college QB since Cam Newton (tore up Bama twice). Josh Rosen never shined in 3 years at UCLA (granted his HC was terrible). Darnold turned it over every other possession.
Let's hope we have consistent, healthy QB play. If Shea can bring us second half of the season Rudock level production, I think we will be just fine.
Its nice to be hopeful. Its better to have reason to be.
I'm more optimistic than most but I really feel like the brakes need to be pumped a bit. If we go into the season expecting a Heisman level season from Shea we're just setting ourselves up for disappointment.
let's see if this pep hamilton offense can throw more than 9 TD passes before we starting throwing one of the QBs on the Hesiman watch list
Ah yes, it's "meaningless watch list" season. Only a few more months to go!
Burn this thread down. Sorry, but i don't want to see any of this shit right now.
This is probably from years of hearing Denard would win the Heisman in Sept and then having to watch him get pummeled in the BIG
There's billions of other things to look at on the internet. Why look at things you don't like?
Am I crazy to think that Bryce Love is better than Barkley and will have a better NFL career? They are two different types of backs but I just think the style Barkley plays allows him to be subject to bigger and more devistating hits.
I'm okay with this optimisitic prediction. It also speaks well for Michigan.
