Looked like Gil and Ross may still be sharing time with the 1s at LB. They took turns going first in LB drills with newly-minted captain Bush ALWAYS taking the first rep.

I have no insider info, just sharing what I thought from practice.

I stayed riveted on Shea the entire practice. He threw about 200 balls. He has a quick release and is mind numbingly consistent, Every throw was a tight spiral on the money with mustard on it. Too bad about Tarik, but I honestly believe this guy will make whoever he throws to look better. I can’t wait to head to S.B. This might be the year we’ve all been waiting for, GO BLUE!!

I heard it was moody and not Nordin taking kicks. I dont think Nordin was even suited up. is he injured or just struggling that badly with his kicks

One of the sites that is not allowed here mentioned the other day that Nordin has really been struggling.  Normally I wouldnt even post that, but combined with his no show today...we may have a little smoke...

Let's hope we win every game substantially so FG are bot needed

Fine but almost exclusively from close range as most of the field was taken up by players.

For what it’s worth, I saw Moody in high school and he is a touchback machine. Don’t expect many kickoffs to be returned against Michigan at all this year.

Went to the open practice and spent most of my time watching the quarterbacks. For whatever you can glean from watching guys throw footballs to open receivers while they're not being rushed, here's my take. (And this echoes some of what's been said here.):

Shea Patterson - Looked great; almost flawless. There was a drill where they were throwing the ball maybe 40 yards downfield, and he hit every receiver perfectly in stride. He was the only QB who did that. Throws a beautiful ball. Quick release, and you can just tell (even in these drills) that he's in control. Even running around in the imaginary pocket, he looked fast. Clearly looked like the best guy.

Brandon Peters - Seems to have gotten stronger and by his body language, looks more confident. Seems to have a little quicker release. Looked really good.

Dylan McCaffrey - Obviously much bigger and stronger than he was last year. From these drills, it was hard to tell whether he or Brandon is doing better. Was especially impressive with the long throws. He appears to have a genuine cannon. I can't believe there are many third-string quarterbacks in the country better than this.

Joe Milton - As others have said, not that impressive. Seemed to have almost a lackadaisical throwing motion, and underthrew a few guys. Let's hope that redshirt doesn't need to be burned.

Everybody Else - Hard workers, and that was obvious.

Thank you. This is the kind of information I was looking for. And you said what I thought would happen, though Shea Patterson is better than has been reported. From all I have learned about Joe Milton, what you said is exactly what I thought of him. He will have a big, uphill job making it to starter, even to 2nd string. There is inflated hopes for Joe Milton. Time will burst that bubble.

I hope it wasn’t indicative of the Milton kid, but he just looked disinterested in this practice. Maybe I just misread his body language but that is what I saw. His throws were just ok nothing noteworthy. Patterson seems to snap the ball with his wrist and really has me excited. I am glad I took the time and went to this practice. Shea has me amped for what might be coming.

I don't know Milton, or the specifics ... but when a young guy comes up from FL, enrolls early, goes through the winter, has a Spring practice season where he gets tons of kudos ... then gets into Fall camp and has his eyes opened to just how far off the standard he currently is ...

Well, I could see that young freshman maybe having the blahs now and then. Human nature.

I'm going with that until there is reliable word otherwise.
