Sam Webb has a gut feeling
This morning, Sam Webb, on his WTKA show, said he has a "gut feeling" that we'll be getting our first football commit...most likely today.

Commence (possible) rejoicing. Also commence guessing at the identity of the commit...

Well who is visiting campus today? I know there are 2 people there.

With the big recruiting weekend, it'd be great to break the ice and then maybe get a little momentum going with other kids.

I'll be really greedy and say it's RJS.
March 24th, 2011 at 10:11 AM ^
Would be awesome, but I think that we still have some ground to make up with him.
March 24th, 2011 at 10:21 AM ^
RJS has announced his timeline and I believe he's not looking to decide until after the season. So, it's unlikely to be him.

let it go, by friend, let it go . . .

March 24th, 2011 at 10:15 AM ^
The correct spelling is dammit.

You.
Seriously? You join a message board 3 months ago and feel entitled to raise your own pet peeves in a discussion about Michigan recruiting? Who are you? Karim Garcia? Who is Karim Garcia? Well, congrats - your erudite understanding of the word "dammit" is now known to all of Michigan nation.
Seriously though, welcome to the board. I'm probably 95% kidding with this, but I find it funny when people think that we are in a classroom. I'd like to think that we check our egos at the Mgoblog door. Welcome, and we look forward to your positive input.
(For Extra Credit: where is the grammatical error in my post??).
March 24th, 2011 at 10:35 AM ^
My pet peeve is people who feel the need to call out people with pet peeves.

HALOL
My pet peeve is people who ride bikes around campus.
My pet peeve is hot dogs that ride bikes around campus.

I'm going to guess the grammatical error is your present-tense use of the word "join". It ought to be used in its past tense: "joined", because you're speaking about an action that occured in the past. To further complete the sentence, you should insert the word "now" before "feel".
Hm? Hm??

I am going to say that you should have a comma after the word seriously and before the word though in the second paragraph.
March 24th, 2011 at 11:11 AM ^
You put an unnecessary period after the question in parentheses and a double space after the colon inside.
March 24th, 2011 at 11:18 AM ^
should be capitalized, that is considered part of your post, isn't it?
March 24th, 2011 at 10:22 AM ^
Sorry, I had to neg you. Nothing personal, it's just that your post brought up too many bad memories.
It was pretty interesting watching a sarcastic post about a former recruit turn into a battle of grammer and pet peeves.
(yes, I spelled grammar wrong on purpose)

I am looking at you Ben Braden.

I think it's one of three: Pierre Aka(if offered on visit today), Godin or Ron Thompson.

How about Levictus Payne? This game is fun and I just wanted to type his name, that's two birds with one stone.
March 24th, 2011 at 10:54 AM ^
But you didn't type his name. You typed Levictus. Someone needs to pay more attention in Sunday School.

I think the MSU school in Grand Rapids is where all of the Sparty fans are coming from. I can't think of any other reason. I'd guess there are more ND fans up here than there are MSU fans.

Ummm... I think he was pretty clear. He doesn't have an offer from us. The coaches want to see him at camps before they extend him an offer.

Magnus, do you think we offer Bam Bradley? Or is there a concern he outgrows the safety position and plays LB in college?
Bradley's iffy. I think he's going to really have to improve as a senior if he wants to get big-time offers. The concern I have with Bradley is that he just doesn't look like he wants to play all the time. He's not extremely aggressive, and that's not a good recipe for being a college football player. He'll hit once in awhile, but most of the time...eh.
Josh Helmholdt over at Rivals said that Bradley (or his family) contacted Rivals about making and posting a highlight tape for him. And Rivals basically told him, "Uhhh...there aren't enough highlights here." He just didn't make plays. If you watch his Youtube highlight tape, he kind of just waits for ballcarriers to come to him.
If I were Michigan, I wouldn't offer him. I'll put it that way. And I certainly don't think he's athletic enough to play defensive back. Unless the switch comes on, he's kind of...just a guy.
Thanks for the input. There is lots of hype surrounding Bradley and his hitting prowess. I guess at this point it's just hype.
He hits hard sometimes. It's not completely hype. It's just he lacks consistently. Kind of like Will Campbell, he can toss people around when he wants to...but he doesn't always want to. As a 330 lb. defensive tackle, you actually might be able to take a play off once in awhile and still clog up a running lane. But linebackers can't afford to have that mentality.
