Question for any Michigan Daily staffers- do you get $$ from this

Like many of you, I'm pulling out my credit card to buy commemorative stuff to celebrate the national championship.

I don't like in Michigan so I couldn't get my hands on the actual newspapers but I did like the look of these https://www.titlegameframes.com/collections/michigan-wolverines-ncaa

My question that I have for anyone involved at the Daily- when people order stuff from a third party company like this that uses your creative content, do you get any money back on that?  I'd rather have my dollars go to the Daily versus the Freep/Det News.  And if you don't get paid on this, I'd likely not order from here as they are using your work without you getting appropriately compensated.

Thanks and Go Blue

I have been ordering print copies of the Michigan Daily newspaper commemorating all our wins against Ohio State, Big Ten championships, and bowl wins. My favorite by far is their Rose Bowl "Roses are Blue" front page, but they said they're not making print copies of it!! I am very sad.

The students on the Daily receive small amounts in compensation, but benefit from the sales. The Michigan Daily receives no money for operations from the university so the cost of buying new equipment/software, travel costs, and payments to student staffers comes out of revenues for advertising, sales of merch, etc.  The bottom line is that they do benefit from buying these posters.

I am sure there is a licensing deal. The university is very aggressive about protecting its copyrights. That standard frame is actually not a bad deal if it includes shipping.
