QB Peters moves up in rankings
For the star gazers out there, 247 has moved Peters up in their rankings to the #6 prostyle QB and #135 overall. This also bumps his composite to #9 QB and #179 overall.

Har-bump in the ratings.
Where did he finish in the Elite 11 Finals? Sorry if I missed this or if it didn't even happen yet. I didn't see anything. So if someone can inform me that would be appreciated.

According to link above he finished 2nd in the semis.
The E11 Finals coincide with The Opening which is July 5th-11th. All of that should be on ESPNU again like it has been in years past.
DeWeaver is about 70 or so positions behind Peters...I like both QBs, but like always, looks like Harbaugh made the right decision
It will certainly be interesting to see how this plays out... I haven't heard a bad report yet regarding DeWeaver, so I expect him to come in and eventually contribute at a high level.
The biggest difference I see is the Peters is another horse in the stable whereas DeWeaver has been anointed as the second coming of Brian Hoyer
The only negative I've heard regarding DeWeaver is his ceiling isn't super high but he's pretty good now. Peters has more potential but is less polished currently. So it's a high floor/low ceiling vs a low floor/high ceiling. Will definitely be interesting to see but with so much uncertainty in QB development they may never play each other.
Peters is better. I'd say that's reason enough. It seemed like Harbaugh prioritized finding another QB in 2016 with his pursuits of Costello and Peters so it seems that he wasn't particularly comfortable with DeWeaver as his guy.
Or perhaps Harbaugh informed DeWeaver that he was going to bring in another QB in the class and DeWeaver wasn't so keen on that idea.
He hasn't been actively pursuing other 2016 QBs since he landed Peters though, which to me suggests that he's a lot more comfortable with Peters than he was with DeWeaver. I know we just got Viramontes but he's an athlete that can potentially play multiple positions.
True, I was just floating it out there as a possiblity since DeWeaver claimed that Harbuagh wanted him to stay committed.
I wouldn't expect him to say otherwise though. I'm sure Harbaugh didn't actively push him out or anything but my guess is he didn't really work hard to get DeWeaver to stay.
offer. DeWeaver isn't going to come out and say Harbaugh didn't want him, but he de-committed shortly after their meeting. i imagine he knew Harbaugh wasn't as enthusiastic about him as Hoke and co.
when people say Harbaugh still wanted him badly. DeWeaver decommitted like a few hours after Harbaugh left his house. Obviously he wasn't happy with the way the visit went.
And VV could play QB...reminds some of Kapernick. Key is, Peters is ready to EMBRACE competition. All UM signees under JH would be wise to react simmilarly.
and that, empirically, he performs much better in game conditions as opposed to these camp settings.
Many Michigan fans who saw DeWeaver perform in games last fall came away less than impressed with him, and that was while he was committed to Michigan. Seems DeWeaver really does well in these camp settings and in the 7-on-7 format, but doesn't hold that performance when OL and DL, and pads and hitting are all brought into the mix, at least that's been the case up to this point in his career.
Comparatively, Peters has struggled with some of the camp stuff, but has been said to be a 'gamer' by almost all who have seen him, coached him, or coached against him.
Based on that, I'd say Harbaugh is very happy with that tradeoff, no matter where each guy ends up getting ranked by the services.
Sam Webb touched on it often, while not outright saying DeWeaver wasn't asked to stay, he made it abundantly clear that Harbaugh and staff were hotly pursuing several other QBs, and DeWeaver wasn't a focus. Remember the Eason and Peters pursuits? Then it was Peters.
DeWeaver was a commit back then, nobody hated him like they do now. Including Sam Webb (though I'm sure Webb doesn't hate him now). It wasn't a "he's no good, he's a Sparty". The kid stayed committed through that mess of a season, we loved him. It was a bit of an awkward, "he's still committed, but the coaches appear to be going really hard after several other guys."
Two QB thing could b accurate: Harbaugh may have been glad to keep him, as long as he got another guy he coveted. By the way it played out: Peters as the drop-back, the Viromantes kid as the runner/option guy, it seems clear that DeWeaver wasn't the first choice as the QB.
According to his 247 profile page, Peters is 2014 years old...I think Harbaugh needs to re-evaluate, unless we're dealing with an incredibly old Jedi.
/s...obviously.
lack of faith in Harbaugh disturbing. :-)
Without looking, my guess is that ESPN has still failed to evaluate DeWeaver. Because why would they? They still have eight months before National Signing Day.
I'm picking up your sarcasm. Anyway, they have him as a 3* and #19 pro qb FWIW.
Well, look who showed up! It's Tom Luginbill, everybody!
Well, I do hate OSU, so I could be working for ESPN.
Big 10 is sending 6 commits out of the 18 finalists, SEC sending 5.

I am sure they don't care and will tell you how much they don't care in the thread about Michigan that probably has more posts than any other on that board.
I can picture the the title now, "scUM just gets all the preseason hype because there are so many Walvies out there. We'll see who the better program is. Football wasn't even played before 2008" and on and on and on...
I just checked out the RCMB to confirm..... and I can in fact confirm that with 303 pages and over 7,000 posts, "scUM just hit rock bottom" is definitely the leader by a wide margin of around 3000 posts. They love those Michigan Wolverines almost as much as we do haha.
I used to check out RCMB for the sake of schadenfreude, but they became really predictable. Usually, it goes something like this:
"Rabble rabble...We're big brother now...rabble rabble...scouting services overrate everyone who commits to scUM...rabble rabble." Followed by personal insults of 16 year-old HS student: etc ad nauseum.
I can now enjoy my summer.
The Fates have spoken.
a resemblance?
I'm interested to see what happens with the "Hoke" recruits. Morris, Speight, and Malzone could eventually all end up behind Harbaugh's guys

He is a perfect Sparty pick because he is already into the little Brother disrespect nonsense.
I fully go with Harbo's pick of Peters as should any M fan.
