Where did he finish in the Elite 11 Finals? Sorry if I missed this or if it didn't even happen yet. I didn't see anything. So if someone can inform me that would be appreciated.

DeWeaver is about 70 or so positions behind Peters...I like both QBs, but like always, looks like Harbaugh made the right decision

It will certainly be interesting to see how this plays out... I haven't heard a bad report yet regarding DeWeaver, so I expect him to come in and eventually contribute at a high level.

The biggest difference I see is the Peters is another horse in the stable whereas DeWeaver has been anointed as the second coming of Brian Hoyer

The only negative I've heard regarding DeWeaver is his ceiling isn't super high but he's pretty good now.  Peters has more potential but is less polished currently.   So it's a high floor/low ceiling vs a low floor/high ceiling.  Will definitely be interesting to see but with so much uncertainty in QB development they may never play each other.

Peters is better.  I'd say that's reason enough.  It seemed like Harbaugh prioritized finding another QB in 2016 with his pursuits of Costello and Peters so it seems that he wasn't particularly comfortable with DeWeaver as his guy.

and that, empirically, he performs much better in game conditions as opposed to these camp settings.

Many Michigan fans who saw DeWeaver perform in games last fall came away less than impressed with him, and that was while he was committed to Michigan.  Seems DeWeaver really does well in these camp settings and in the 7-on-7 format, but doesn't hold that performance when OL and DL, and pads and hitting are all brought into the mix, at least that's been the case up to this point in his career.

Comparatively, Peters has struggled with some of the camp stuff, but has been said to be a 'gamer' by almost all who have seen him, coached him, or coached against him.

Based on that, I'd say Harbaugh is very happy with that tradeoff, no matter where each guy ends up getting ranked by the services.

Sam Webb touched on it often, while not outright saying DeWeaver wasn't asked to stay, he made it abundantly clear that Harbaugh and staff were hotly pursuing several other QBs, and DeWeaver wasn't a focus.  Remember the Eason and Peters pursuits?  Then it was Peters.

DeWeaver was a commit back then, nobody hated him like they do now.  Including Sam Webb (though I'm sure Webb doesn't hate him now).  It wasn't a "he's no good, he's a Sparty".  The kid stayed committed through that mess of a season, we loved him.  It was a bit of an awkward, "he's still committed, but the coaches appear to be going really hard after several other guys."

Two QB thing could b accurate: Harbaugh may have been glad to keep him, as long as he got another guy he coveted.  By the way it played out: Peters as the drop-back, the Viromantes kid as the runner/option guy, it seems clear that DeWeaver wasn't the first choice as the QB.

welcome to stay and compete. Deweaver chose a school he felt offered him the best chance to play That school was not at Michigan. He seems like a good kid and has been a good recruiter but i would take Peters, Malzone, or Gentry ahead of him.

I remember when Shane Morris was at the elite 11. At that point, before MSU had any QBs there, camps meant nothing and it was all about how they played on the field in actual games. Now it's completely different because they have a QB there. I love watching them take a huge interest in recruiting now

I just checked out the RCMB to confirm..... and I can in fact confirm that with 303 pages and over 7,000 posts, "scUM just hit rock bottom" is definitely the leader by a wide margin of around 3000 posts. They love those Michigan Wolverines almost as much as we do haha.

I used to check out RCMB for the sake of schadenfreude, but they became really predictable.  Usually, it goes something like this:

"Rabble rabble...We're big brother now...rabble rabble...scouting services overrate everyone who commits to scUM...rabble rabble."  Followed by personal insults of 16 year-old HS student: etc ad nauseum.

I still expect a 2016 redshirt. If Morris does not start this year, I wouldn't expect him to in '16. I'd think O'Korn or Gentry would be the leaders.

I'm interested to see what happens with the "Hoke" recruits. Morris, Speight, and Malzone could eventually all end up behind Harbaugh's guys

All Hoke's guys were highly rated as well. They just had shitty coaching. They're all starting with Harbaugh from day one and will receive the same amount of coaching from him, so there's no reason Morris won't thrive. He has a lot of raw talent, and per scouting reports was more polished than Gentry coming out of hs. All I'm saying is don't count anyone out yet.

He is a perfect Sparty pick because he is already into the little Brother disrespect nonsense.

I fully go with Harbo's pick of Peters as should any M fan.
