In Webber’s defense he was just a kid. Not a seasoned veteran. Way to go Draymond!
Michael Talley was yelling from sideline to call timeout... Webber heard it and panicked. Kudos to Webber for never calling Talley out.
Funny how few people seem to realize this
Yea. I’ve seen the footage. Webber got a bad wrap.
I hate bad wraps. Why use lettuce when you can use buns?
Man, shut the hell up. You could even argue that it was the best call at the time to extend the game and give the team a chance (not saying that’s what he was thinking).
If your first thought is about MSU, it’s you that has the problem, not him.
What a game by the Warriors, by the way.
You really think he called a timeout to extend the game? The Warriors are an amazing team but come on man.
After reading my comment I edited it before seeing you respond. No I wasn’t saying that, but saying it worked out that way.
The webber one was just a huge mistake with no positives.
You guys are making me feel gross for defending Green this much.
The timeout didn't lose the game for them. The game was over.
I’m with Rickett here. Make no mistake, I am no Draymond fan, but this was their only chance to extend the game with <1 second in desperation. OP, you look like a bitter MSU hater and not like an objective fan.
Yup. Plus he was in a scramble on the ground near mid court with less than a second left. What else could he do, couldn’t pass to anyone from the bottom of the scramble. Clock was gonna run out and his technical at least created the slight chance for a weird steal-and-score play
Checking in to say hi. Objective and fan seems oxymoronic. Oh and fuck off to anyone defending anything that dickwad Green does. He is the model Sparty. Whines, behaves like dick, cannot understand why he’s loathed and acts all offended about everything, plus he’s a dirty player.
"behaves like dick"... including his dick kicks.
I don't care what Draymond's stat line looked like last night, he's still a jackass and deserves every bit of mockery and scorn we can dish his way. Especially since sparties everywhere still throw the Webber "time-out" in our faces every opportunity they get.
He thinks the world is flat.
What else needs to be said.
Reminds me of UM vs Illinois football, 1999. With 58 seconds left our D gave up a long touchdown run. Illinois could've run the clock out, but by scoring they actually gave us a chance, down by 8.
He did have 7 turnovers though. It was really a microcosm of what kinda night he had
Yes, HT - we can all acknowledge that Draymond Green was not a champion tonight. And I think we all enjoyed that fact, too!
Points - 11
Rebounds - 19
Assists - 13
Yeah he really fucked up tonight!!! As much as I dislike staee, and "day-day", he played his ass off and if he didn't call the timeout, the game was over.
Some perspective is helpful, don't be a rcmb type jack wagon.
Spot on. Dude is a baller. Gives it his all
Why are you guys fawning over Draymond Green so much? The guy is an ass-hole, kicks people in the nuts to the extent that the gets suspended, gets in bar fights when he returns to his college town, and seriously argues with every foul that is called like a complete jackass. Guess what Draymond, you DO need Kevin Durant after all, huh?
He called a timeout they didn't have. It was funny because he is a dick.
The Warrior fans love him. Their version of Bill Laimbeer.
Turnovers - 8
Nearly a quadruple double!
Remember when we used to laugh at MSU for being obsessed with us?
Been here less than a year and that narrative applies to some of the posters in here.
This could not have happened to a better guy!
Jordan was 46 years old when that meme photo was taken. Draymond's body looks like a pretty good fit for a 46-year-old face.
If he didn’t call the TO the game would end.
It was actually the right call kinda.
Curry fucked up by not driving
You're spot on as his shot was not there most of the night due to the Raptors' stifling defense, but if he drove he either a) makes the layup, or b) gets fouled for 2 FTs - which are automatic, or c) both.
They flashed up some stat about him being 0-7 in playoff games with less than 20 seconds left (not sure if there were any other caveats on the situation). To be honest, that's kind of what I'd always thought, I can't really remember him hitting a truly big playoff shot.
Was it the right call, or was it a happy accident? I didn't care enough about it to watch/listen to the press conference. I'm voting "happy accident."
All you had to do to beat the Warriors was have them all die.
Draymond played his ass off. Respect.
Interesting take.
Nobody cared when the Warriors beat an injured Cavs team...
Or an injured Trailblazer team.
I mean people talked about that for two years? Until the KD Warriors beat the Cavs the first time.
All titles count the same. The task at hand was made so much easier by injuries. Both of these things can be true at the same time.
Right? Lots of people talked about it especially after the Cavs won in 2016.
If all titles count the same, why bring it up? It goes without saying that the injuries made it easier.
Still, props to TOR for getting it done. GSW was still plenty dangerous without KD.
That's because the Cavs weren't missing LeBron (aka the only Cav who mattered). Consider that, without LeBron...
Kyrie Irving: 5 seasons without LeBron, 5-4 playoff record
Kevin Love: 7 seasons without LeBron, 0-0 playoff record
The Warriors most likely win the Finals if anyone other than KD gets hurt. Literally, anyone on their roster other than the best player in the world.
And the Rockets probably win in 2018 if Chris Paul doesn't get hurt. And god only knows what happens if Kawhi doesn't get hurt in 2017 in Game 1 when the Spurs led the Warriors by 25 in the middle of the 3rd quarter.
Injuries are part of it. And if Curry gets hurt I don't believe a Durant/Thompson/Green team beats these Raptors.
The Warriors can win a championship without Durant. Steph Curry is the most valuable player on that roster.
Btw, LeBron James is the “best player in the world.”
LeBron is definitely not the best player in the world anymore. He plays 0 defense and coasts half the time.
I would have said KD before the injury. Now I would probably say Kawhi. I would also put Harden above Lebron. He also plays no defense, but he is a better offensive player than Lebron at this point in their careers. Giannis is about on par with Lebron. His offense is still much more raw than Lebron, but he is often an unstoppable force going towards the hoop. And his defense is 1000 times better than Lebron.
If LeBron was the only Cav that mattered, then why couldn't he take the Lakers into the playoffs this year?
He got hurt. They were in until he went out.
They gave up depth for KD.
No they gave up depth for signing Demarcus Cousins for some stupid reason.
They should've signed a 3 and D wing which would've SAVED their ass this series.
If he hadn’t called timeout, the game would have ended with him on his back with the ball. So it was the only move he had left.
Very true, but that wasn’t why he did it. He made the call that most players make in that situation, get a time out before they get tied up. He forgot about not having any timeouts left. It just happened to work out in the Warriors best interest. Gave them a very slim chance of winning or extending the game versus the game ending with Green on the floor with the ball.
Actually, I didn’t think he had possession when he called the timeout and that it shouldn’t have been granted. Game over.
Watch the replay. Literally every Warrior on the floor was calling TO. Green was just the first.
