Phase 2 of Harbaugh's SEC Invasion near completion. Phase 3 play @ UAB?

Submitted by RED DAWN on

Good Article on my go to website for all things Harbaugh....Al.com

You may not find whining very attractive, but clearly, you're a big fan of needling. In your short time as the Michigan head coach, you've managed to get under the skin of everyone in the Southeastern Conference from Nick Saban to Gus Malzahn to Greg Sankey.

You've drawn more blood around here than a deranged mosquito on Red Bull.

Satellite camps in Alabama, Florida and Texas. Spring practice on spring break in Florida. What next? Your very own Michigan Media Day in Hoover? A Big Ten spring meeting in Destin?

The article suggests play at UAB, the school Alabama trustees tried to prevent from playing football.  Maybe a two in AA, one game there might be a good schedule pickup?

Any other suggestions for Phase Three of the Invasion?

Like Hannibal invading Italy. He marched in and just chilled for a while, roaming around where he pleased with his elite posse, daring the Romans to come move him out.

Hannibal was a loser; Harbaugh is a winner. JH isn't Hannibal in this scenario--he's Scipio Africanus.

Hannibal enjoyed some big ticket victories, but his strategy in Italy was a long-term failure that alienated potentail allies and left his army a peripatetic mess. Scipio outwitted him by leaving his home turf for enemy territory, heading south and taking the fight straight to Carthage (which, like the SEC, employed paid mercenaries and practiced child sacrifice).

Scipio and Rome triumphed in the end at the battle of Zama, just as Harbaugh and Michigan will eventually, and ultimately, prevail.

For extra credit: Compare and contrast Fabius Maximus (Brady Hoke) and Varro (Rich Rod), or discuss the significance of elephants in Hannibal's army and Bama's roll tide ogo.

I miss Alabama playing some of their games down there.  Historic ball field.

I could see Harbaugh schedule a home and home with them all in the name of helping a struggling program earn some money since the mean ole SEC schools suck up all the time and cash.

what Harbaugh is doing LOVE IT!     and the SEC acting like a bunch spoiled whiny brats about...the whole argument about player welfare is such CRAP!...they have no problem with baseball and softball having to spend a month on the road in during spring break as long as they get ALL THE HOME GAMES and never have to travel to northern schools...suddeny its a issue with football?..GOOD FOR HARBAUGH!

Ooh, ooh, me likey!  Schedule a home and home with UAB as soon as possible.  Note that there are many other fine south-eastern universities who play the Blazers regularly, and offer to do the same for them.

Megatron may have retired, but megatroll lives!

Playing in the South is a great idea. How many times do you hear a recruit from the South say he's never heard of Michigan or something like that? Expose the kids down there so they can start thinking and dreaming of Michigan. From a recruiting standpoint it makes more sense to play a school like UAB instead of Eastern Michigan. Go Blue!

I hear that UAB may join the B1G and in 2040 once they've eclipsed Alabama and the 4 coaches following Saban were hung by dissatisfied bagmen, Alabama will be the University begging UAB not to disband it's athletics program.
