Question, if Maggs is 1 for 2 with 2 BB, does that mean he only registers 2 AB? This way it won't cut into his 80 or so left before the option kicks in.

It does count as 2 ABs, but it counts as 4 PAs. Not sure what the specifics of the contract says. I could see it saying PAs so it includes walks, which are a positive for the team.

...the option will almost certainly come into effect. With 38 games left, Magglio will have to average fewer than two plate appearances per game, which simply won't happen without him being benched again, which Leyland will not do during a playoff race.

Guillen just jacked a 3-run shot to the opposite field. Rod Allen said he hit it oppo. Never heard that expression before... Inge just struck out to end the inning, but geez. Way to go Tigers! 10-0!

Oppo is pretty common. I can't say most announcers use it, but a lot of recent ex-players are starting to work it into the announcer vernacular.
