OP forgot to mention who he was. He's a 2017 dual threat 5 star QB. Got an offer from us in June apparently. There wasn't much indication that he had any interest in Michigan. Lots of people have Michigan in their top five just because they want it to seem like academics plays a significant factor in their recruitment. This happens quite a bit in basketball :-/. Anyway 2017 is a quite some time away. Let's just focus on this season and getting the 2016 class wrapped up first.

He can't sign for another 18 months, and has flipped his commitment once already. There are guys who will end up better players than him who haven't even played a game of high school football yet. Recruiting has gotten to be fairly nuts.

I think it has more to do with Michigan has a rockstar head coach, the biggest stadium in America, some of the best uniforms in the country, and is universally known as the winningest college football program in the history of the sport.

Not knocking the kid at all, but from a physicals perspective, sounds more like a Manziel-type build and what Sumlin wants in his QBs.
