What:  Super Rugby Final - it's a league of teams traditionally from South Africa, Australia, and New Zealand.  Recently they've added a team from Japan and from Argentina.  Think about that travel schedule for a regular season!  This is full 15 on 15 rugby, not the Rugby 7's found in the Olympics or Las Vegas, and where the US has been successful.

Who:  Lions vs. Crusaders.  Lions are playing on their homeground in Johannesburg, South Africa.  The Crusaders hail from Christchurch, New Zealand and have (I think) the most championships of any team in Super Rugby history.  The Lions have never won.

When:  10:00 am EST today

Where:  Ellis Park, Johannesburg, SA.  One of the most historic rugby venues in the world, which you may remember as the place where the Springboks (SA national team) won the Rugby World cup and the trophy was handed from captain Pienaar to new president Nelson Mandela.  Or you might remember Matt Damon handing it to Morgan Freeman, I guess.  I went to quite a few games at Ellis Park when I was living in Joburg, it's old school no frills and it is awesome.

Watch:  This will be streaming for all of us in the US of A on Watch ESPN

Let's go Lions!!!

Well I guess there's not a lot of interest on here...

Anyway, halftime and it's 15-3 Crusaders.  Lions had a tough red card so now playing with 14 players.

Lions put up an admirable effort in the second half but mistakes at key times as well as the red card keeping them at 14 players kept the comeback short.

Crusaders 25-14 Lions and Crusaders win their 8th championship.
