Might not have been a dead season if we had better quarterback play. MSU/OSU are easy W's with better QB play. I'd sacrifice a couple reps for two freshmen with 2-4 years ahead of them for those wins.

But Shane played well at Central, especially late in the season. I think Michigan wins 2 or 3 more games last year if Shane stayed and JOK left.

Glad to see he's getting a look with the Lions.

he completed under 60% of his passes against MAC competition. And he already lost out to O'korn. You people who think "sugar shane" would have saved us are high. He wins 0 additional games. He probably loses to Purdue if he has the nod over okorn. Adding another mediocre to poor QB last year doesnt change a thing.

see Josh Rosen, Lamar Jackson, Sam Darnold, etc. All were 1st round picks despite having subpar OL play as whole.  What they get around it is they're able to read and get the ball out quickly or have subtle movement within the pocket to buy extra time for the passing plays to develop.

Does it help to have great OL? Sure but QBs has to execute regardless.

Josh Rosen had two concussions this year, and at times looked absolutely overwhelmed.  Sam Darnold had a perfectly fine last year (31st in adjusted sack rate), but he still threw 13 picks and struggled under pressure.  Lamar Jackson is an amazing athlete who ran out of problems a bunch of times but, as a result, completed under 60% of his passes.  All three were affected by problems with protection.

And please don't use NFL draft position (especially at QB, which has consistently been overrated as a position due to scarcity) as some proxy for quality at the spot.

Remember how enthusiastic Shane was? He went full spead recruiting his classmates.

Best of everything to Shane, our fellow Wolverine.

Shane had a different Dad:

- He would of been on the team last year

- His career at Michigan would have been different

This might comes across very harsh or rude.  However for any of you that have had the pleasure to meet Mr. Morris knows what I'm talking about.  Wore out his welcome with the Hoke regime, also after a week in Bradenton had to be spoken to by multiple support staff and coaches.  Guy needs to take a hike, but I can promise you he will be in Allen Park.

Also, as someone who knows a ton of people who went to U of M while he played here, Shane was seen as quite arrogant and unlikeable to a large portion of the student body, which is a shame they thought because the vast-vast majority of them were very cool guys.

Morris didnt play very well for us at QB. But at least he didnt get in any trouble. He showed up everyday and put in effort. That is all you can ask from someone. Harbaugh liked him and I do too. I will remember him as the best lefty I have seen at UM haha. Go Blue!

Starting with the first NFL draft that Schembechler's Michigan program was eligible for—1970—through 2017, I looked at which college programs the Lions had drafted the most players from. Using info from the Lion's own website:

12: USC and PSU

10: Michigan, Texas, and.... Purdue.

Yes, that's right: Since 1970, the Detroit Lions have drafted as many players from Purdue as they have Michigan.

And of those ten UM players drafted, only 4 have been drafted within the first four rounds.

8 Buckeyes have been drafted in that time, and 5 Spartans.
