OT: Pat Narduzzi is still a Douche Nugget Deluxe

Submitted by Toby Flenderson on

After whining to the referees all night long, Pat Narduzzi gave VT WRs a lot of praise.....

"They did a great job pushing off all night. Give them credit for that."

you can take a coach away from little brother, but you cannot take the little brother away from the coach.

Gotta like his enthusiasm, even if it is known to mankind. Regarding his antics; opponents say the same thing about Harbaugh. I do agree he came across as a baby with his WR comments.

This further showcases that Narduzzi doesn’t quite get it. If he was so tired of seeing his cornerbacks called for pass interference, he should have given them more help on the outside rather than leaving them in one-on-one coverage where they were routinely beaten and had no choice but to commit a penalty.

There were moments during that game where the camera would go to Narduzzi and it seemed rather apparent that he was completely awash in frustration that his system didn't work right this minute, but yeah, he refused to do anything about it and if the opposing WRs have to push off to avoid getting assaulted then so be it really. I just enjoyed the fact that another coach had to intervene to avoid getting Narduzzi called for his own penalty at one point - like his offense, he came already in meltdown mode.

Narduzzi is simular to Izzo.  Teach over agressively tactics.  Your defensive players have hands all over the offensive player on every play to challenge the refs to call it every time.  When they get called cry like a baby so the fans  have a reason why they lost.

I belive the correct adage is: You can take the couch away from Little Brother, but you can't take the Little Brother away from the couch.

Had a phone call with an old coaching friend while that was on, and that was the first thing he said- "lots of pushing off, of course a lot of holding and PI, too". The Pitt DBs were clearly outmatched. The Cal-USC game was similar.

Of course we all have blind spots for infractions committed by our guys.

I mentioned about how MSU was famous for that kind of stuff, ("hey, they can't throw the flag every damn time") and it seems to me that Michigan and others aroung the B1G have caught on. I only worry that Jordan Lewis and Stribbling might be doing a little too much, and wonder if they get called in the post season when the game isn't being worked by B1G referees. Kind of like basketball.

getting handfuls of jersey like the Pitts CB's were. I know that would get called in the B1G. The announcers seemed alittle peeved the refs doing that game weren't calling it. I have seen the Michigan corners keep a hand on a WR but never grab them like that so it makes it very hard to catch. They put that hand on them to make sure if the WR does catch the ball they aren't going to get far.

I am sure the coaches for VT were telling their WR's that if the CB grabs you push off. The refs probably didn't call them either way and let them fight it out. Not to sound redundant but I agree with someone who earlier said. Bragging that your defense is 60 min. of unnecessary roughness is not going to get you much mercy when you cry about the other team being rough with your DB's. Not to mention flailing around trying to get the crowd after the refs in the game.
