from GA to critical position coach in an FBS program.  Often guys will have to take an intermediate QC or recruiting only role.  Happy for the guy. The MAC has always been a great place to learn the craft.*

*no, not referring to Brian Kelly

That Minnesota game was the reason the gophers needed to leave the metronome. Michigan went 15-0 in its history I believe. Now that I'm thinking about it we are 2-0 at TCF. Here's to another 15-0 run

Hell, I would rather play the Gophers at their home than at the Big House. We've had some bad memories from home games against Minnesota (the fourth quarter meltdown in the 2005 game, the Shane Morris concussion fiasco in the 2014 game, etc).

Better suited to be a RB coach than QB.

In all seriousness though, I remember when criticism of him got real heated and some of the defense for him was that he likely never expected to see the field in that important a role, that his primary goal was to be a coach someday.

If true, always easy to root for people who are achieving their dreams.

Take it easy on the references to his playing days. Most of the greatest coaches had mediocre playing careers. Guys like Jim Harbaugh and Mike Ditka are rare exceptions.

It's not easy to be asked to go out there to perform a role you know you can't master, the people asking you know you can't perform in, everyone watching knows you can't suceed at. You're just asked to do it because *someone* has to go out and do it just to get it over with. Good luck to him.
