new year's cocktail: teaspoon cane sugar in glass, muddle with five dashes walnut bitters and a bit of orange peel. add two ounces bulleit rye and ice, stir, and serve.

Spending NYE at home and we just watched the Netflix countdown for my toddler. Now I'm kicking back with a homemade moscow mule in my new copper mug while I watch Kathy Griffin make Anderson Cooper very uncomrtable on CNN (yes, I'm indeed trying to ignore the fact MSU is playing a playoff game right now). Happy New Year everyone and Go Blue!

Happy New Year! Well, a couple hours early here in Eastern Time anyway, but still....

As I live downriver in Wayne County, my sole hope is that the number of shots - pistol and otherwise - taken at celestial objects is less this year. That freaks out me, my wife, my kids, the cats...it's just unpleasant.
