Eh, just a lack of faith in the NCAA. Probably the wrong time to make a deal of it. This was the right call, but the CWS isn’t a high-dollar event compared to, say, football or basketball. And we’ve seen the NCAA apply its policies asymmetrically within the pandemic and without.

To reiterate, it was the right call. But one that took no courage, and the NCAA being what it is, they make it easy for some folks to get bitter and/or conspiracy-y about it.

If this was going to be the call, why let them play the first game?  Now Vandy is at risk.  I do believe that getting vaccinated or not is a personal choice (although I live in TN were less than half of those eligible have gotten the vaccine so this shit is never going away) but playing College sports is a privilege not a right.  If these players did not want to get the vaccine that is fine, I just don't think they should be able to put their teammates and the team goals at jeopardy.

"...this shit is never going away"

It's not going away with these vaccines either.  Did you miss the part where multiple players who HAD been vaccinated ALSO got Covid?

Clearly, the efficacy is questionable at best.

Oh, and your booster shots are coming this fall - so sure, THAT is why it is never going away.  $$$ for your yearly or bi-yearly "boosters".

I suspected you were xtra before this - your fixation with me makes it clear.    Good to have you back.  As long as you keep my family out of it, I’m not going to be the one to call for your ban.   I will just call out your stupidity every time I see it (given your track record today and in the past - that will be often).  Don’t  care what you call me, but expect me to call you out in return.   And if you bring my family into it again, I will happily lead the charge to see you banned again.

All of this is factual:

It's not going away with these vaccines either.  Did you miss the part where multiple players who HAD been vaccinated ALSO got Covid?

-Break-through cases are a thing but the data is unavailable and/or suppressed - so yes, I was interested to see that the blame was placed on those not vaccinated, yet vaccinated individuals ALSO got Covid.

Clearly, the efficacy is questionable at best.

- Efficacy has been published between 90-98% for the major vaccines pushed in America.  For multiple players on the same team to be vaccinated AND also still be Covid positive, is a concern, no?

Oh, and your booster shots are coming this fall - so sure, THAT is why it is never going away.  $$$ for your yearly or bi-yearly "boosters".

- This is plain fact.  All major vaccine manufacturers have indicated that Boosters are on the way so you will need at least an annual shot if not more if you think the shot is the solution.

Where is the trolling?  These are all facts and or readily obtainable information.  Unsure why you are so concerned with my comments?

The trolling is  - open an account on a Michigan sports blog not to talk Michigan sports, but to post covid disinformation.   Evidenced by the fact that your first 5 posts on the blog were about covid and even being generous, your grasp of facts in those posts is a bit suspect.

You ask for examples:

1. The 90+ percent efficacy is about symptomatic Covid, not about catching it at all.  There has also always been a concern that efficacy might be lower for variants.   Players on the same team having non-symptomatic covid doesn’t contradict any of those facts.   This by the way is the relevance of the point that well over 90 percent of the current covid deaths in the US are from unvaccinated patients.

2. Covid is never going to go away because people want to make money on boosters.    That is what would be referred to as an opinion, not a fact.   A few facts: it is very hard to get rid of a  virus using vaccines.   It is even harder when large parts of the country refuse to take said vaccines.   The need for booster shots for a vaccine is not unique to covid.  It is also not surprising when the virus being vaccinated against is mutating.

3. Most discussion of boosters has focused around one vaccine used in the US - J and J, and thise most vulnerable to covid.   That doesn’t mean that everyone needs a booster.

The statement, “if you think the shot is the solution” is also clear trolling,

How pathetic are you? Let me count the ways - 1) banned for being an ignorant covidiot, 2) threatened a (completely frivolous) lawsuit against the blog for said banning, and then 3) couldn’t stay away and had to come back to spread more lies and bullshit. Your life must truly suck - maybe a little more redpop will fix that for you.

Plus, totally agree it sucks for the players.  Both vaccinated and non vaccinated.  For most of the seniors that is going to be the last meaningful team they will play on.  Going out losing on the field you can deal with, not getting the chance will haunt them.

No doubt the kids that tested positive feel horrible.

I hear what you are saying and it really sucks for this kids that took the vaccine, but I still have sympathy for the kids that did not get vaccinated for whatever reason (medical or listening to total propaganda BS).  These kids have played baseball well over half their lives to get to where they are, none of them wanted it to end this way.  The amount of work, practice and determination that goes into playing division 1 sports is beyond impressive to me.

I agree that everyone on that team that could get vaccinated should have been.  I also can feel sympathy for all of them at the lost opportunity.  I don't think it mutual exclusive.  I also give a bit of grace to 18-22 year old young men.

That being said, my position is stop listening to bullshit and get vaccinated!

I certainly agree on that point.  Hard lesson to learn, but hopefully one they will take to heart and remember in the future.  I do believe it is a personal choice, but I believe if you are going to be a good team-mate, co-worker, community member etc.  You owe it to those around you to get vaccinated.

If you don't want to get vaccinated stay home, when out wear your masks, social distance.  Really should not be that complicated. My opinion, when history studies what happened during the 2020 Pandemic in the US they will be shocked at how a once in a 100 year health crisis became a political talking and dividing point.  No question that is feed by misinformation.

Confident we are on the same side of this coin.

It is obvious that the moon landing was filmed on a sound stage at Norton Air Force Base in San Bernardino, California. The rest of this conspiracy stuff is just crazy.

What I don’t understand is why they have to forfeit. I know that I will be completely negged about this but hear me out… We have more tools in our belt to treat this. More therapeutics, 3 highly effective vaccines. Players have played sick for years. Some very infamous performances. If people are asymptomatic they should be able to choose. I had it last year and ran 45 miles the week I had it. I’ve also been vaccinated twice. Maybe some experts on here could enlighten me. Not trying to be contrary at all, just wondering with all of the breakthroughs we have medically why they couldn’t play. We had our lowest case count in the state yesterday at 40 so it feels like we are coming out of this.

Pretty sure the concern isn't that they can't play sick, it's that they could infect the other team or officials.

This stuff is WAY more contagious than most of the stuff people have played sick with.  Especially if it is the Delta variant, which is apparently twice as contagious as the original (no idea if it is or not, but with several vaccinated players testing positive, there is at least a decent chance of it.)
