Argument has sunk to. Rutgers would be love to have him. What a high standard!

He's an OKAY coach. He's had teams that will rise up on occasion, but other than that he's a dude that knows how to coach offense and can't handle any team that plays defense. See: Minnesota a few weeks ago.

Thank god for some common sense here. People love him because he's a jackass who says "controversial" things. In reality he's a mediocre coach who loves running his mouth so certain sound bites become viral so everyone loves him. He's Rex Ryan before Ryan had any expectations or pressure.

His defenses haven't been that bad. FEI goes back to 2007. Here's how his defenses have ranked: 07, Texas Tech, 8-4, 78th 08, Texas Tech, 9-2, 28th 09, Texas Tech, 8-4, 32nd 12, WSU, 2-9, 69th 13, WSU, 5-7, 52nd 14, WSU, 2-9, 107th 15, WSU, 9-3, 39th 16, WSU, 8-4, 43rd

Cougs were winning like 1-4 games under Wolff...then leach came in with just shit players and had a lot of recruiting to do...then finally in 2015 all his recruits finally got older and going forward 8 wins will be the norm...so ya taken a while but i dont think the program sucks.

Its going to be rare when WSU has that special season, but its going to happen. But I fully expect 8 wins going forward for his teams if he keeps recruiting well....for WSU standards.  They will rarely pull in a top 4 star, probably never a 5 star..but he gets the most out of his 3 star players.

but i know you guys are being nice  EDIT: or better yet, being wonderfully sarcastic.

he was technically a year ahead but the two classes were a pretty close group, still maintainging contact with many of them lo these 30 yrs later.  and that started long before cell phones were popular or social media even existed.

I read "Swing Your Sword" not long ago. Pretty darn good book. He's a bit crazy but the guy can coach. Big schools don't avoid him because he's a bad coach. Big schools avoid him because he's not a schmoozer.

Leach is definitely an excellent offensive coach.  His problem at WSU is recruiting and defense.  Over the past 4 years he has only recruited two 4 star players. He has more two star recruits than 4 star.

is the worst P5 coaching job in the country (you can probably argue Oregon State) in terms of location and state recruiting strength. Wazzu is in the middle of nowhere and is located in a very small town. They have to compete with Washington which offers better location and gets more of a pull from instate recruits.

You know what's interesting about Wazzu this season? Their defense is ranked 43 in the country in FEI and 63 in S&P so defense wasn't the problem.  They're pretty balanced and it's the slow start that hurts Washington State but they played well in Pac-12.

Why does anyone give a shit what he thinks? Those SEC offenses would still put up 40 on his WSU team. Dude is butt hurt because none of those terrible SEC teams are ever going to call his monkey ass up when they want a head coach.

I'd love it if SEC folks like Finebaum could take a break from his tears over the most recent national title game and pleasuring himself to Nick Saban photos to get angry about this.  But it doesn't involve Harbaugh so I doubt he even notices.

Can't recruit worth shit though, with classes in the 40-60 range.  Basically Illinois/Indiana talent level.  If you melded him together with Hoke, you'd have one beast of a head coach.

the pass spread offense. When the Lion's ran it with Mouse Davis with Barry in the backfield oh boy. That was fun. Wished they would have passed to Barry more out of that offense.
