Because it's still entertaining, more than a decade later

Funny enough, I read a Graham Couch article today that discussed how MSU, with minimal exceptions, tends to have their best seasons in years they lose to ND, and their worst seasons in years they beat ND. Apparently over the last 30 years, State's had four of their best five seasons in years they lost to Notre Dame...the only outlier being that overtime fake fieldgoal game.

Kind of strange.

Not into rooting against other "programs". I'm sure spaert will have a pregame Michigan watch party. That how they roll. Plan to enjoy the Air Force San Diego St. game. Go Blue ...

v. ND is a pretty good rivalry man.  Their games are almost always really competitive, good games).  I really don't care who wins the game (though my money is on State and the "fire Kelly" murmurs to become more audible) but I'm sure as hell going to watch.  A night conference rivalry game with Gus Johnson?  Yes please.

That is unless we find a way to lose to Purdue.  Then I'm just going to get super drunk and go to sleep only to wake up all mad and confused and apologize to my wife for being a asshole.

to hell with them both. My wife's little cousin just got a full ride at Staee, (which, congrats, cool) and most of the family are ND fans seeing as how I live in southwest Michigan about an 45 minutes from Notre Dame. Born and raised in South Bend. So seriously, to hell with Notre Dame. I would much rather Mork and his crew win by a hair than here how Notre Dame is back. Especially since we play them next year.

So ND apparently can't throw the ball and MSU can't defend the pass to save THEIR lives.  This is going to be 4 quarters of sludge-fart offenses and then, like a blocked FG will decide it 7-3.

"Spartan Bob - The Sequel" happened in 2010 as the Little Giants fake FG was actually a delay of game penalty that was never called.  The snap came a full 2 seconds after the play clock expired.  Was it reviewed ... fuck no.

Go Blue!

My dream scenario:

Notre Dame beats Michigan State comfortably.

At the same time, Georgia gets fucked by Mississippi State, so Notre Dame's loss from last week looks even worse. Now, Notre Dame fans have to contend with the fact that they lost to a not very good Georgia team, and that the Michigan State team that they just beat is probably trash. At the same time, Michigan State fans see all of the problems from last year springing up again, and resign themselves to a 6-6 or 5-7 season.

I hate them both. Mother in law game. You buy a new ride and your mother in law gets in and drives it off a cliff. Your happy and sad at the same time. Just like this crap one has to win.

Being a GVSU alum, I am rooting for Brian Kelly and ND to beat MSU.

Not a huge fan of Kelly's antics since getting to ND, but I still respect him for building the GVSU football dynasty (which is basically extinct now. I enrolled in 2007, and just my luck the last time GV won the D2 playoffs was 2006...(2002, 2003, 2004, 2006 Nat'l Champs). My freshman class was the bad luck charm for GV football, unfortunately.

Would love to see ND win 24-0. That'll shut up all those Spartans who think they're back to being a 10 win team again.

And it would be great if Georgia lost to Mississippi St. The worse they do, the better chance Harbaugh has of stealing more kids from GA. So Go Bulldogs! The maroon bulldogs, not the red bulldogs.

...Notre Dame is 1b. The Cow College is not worthy of the level of contempt we save for Buckeye or Fighting Irish blood. Personally I'd put Alabama (and perhaps USC) higher on the contemptible list. Let Sparty win 28-0 and feel REALLY good...for about 13 days...
