OT: Little Victor
My favorite 2 1/2 year old (my niece's son) is having heart surgery (fontan procedure) at Mott Children's Hospital tomorrow. He's sweet, smart, funny and incredibly good natured for a kid who's already been through so much. He's a true blue Little Victor - he spent the first 7+ months of his life at Mott and his favorite go-everywhere blanket is blue with a maize block M. I got to spend time with him on Saturday, chasing him as he begged "get me, Lucy, get me" (he was so excited, he wasn't quite getting my name right, but I loved it anyway). His giggle and smile lights up the room.
His team is top-notch, but still I'm sending good vibes and prayers for steady hands, clear minds, good reaction times and sound decisions to all who will be providing him care tomorrow and over the coming weeks. And strength and patience to his amazing parents, big sister & all the family.
I know this is OT, but given the connection to Mott from so many of our M athletes, I wanted to share with my M community here. Thanks for the MGoSupport.
It's a shame how often they have to prove that.
Best of luck - he's in good hands.
My MoGoDaughter (16yo now) had to go through a lot of surgeries due to being 2 months premature. Littles bounce back amazingly, but they're still littles.
Sending lots of support, prayers and overall good juju from the land of corn.
Hail to the Little Victor!
Does he have HLHS? My friend's daughter was born with that. She's about 3.5 now and doing extremely well.
his original diagnosis was HLHS (in utero), but actually has tricuspid atresia (as I understand it, anyway).
I'm glad your friend's daughter is doing well!
I have a daughter currently at Mott, she just had the hybrid performed. One surgery down, three more to go.
Met a man who was a Buckeye fan wearing a Michigan t-shirt as his grand-daughter was present in the hospital pulling for all of them.
Best wishes & prayers for a long healthy life for your daughter as well! Mott really is a wonderful place.
unconditional love and support from what we can give .... nothing but LOVE and prayers!!!!!!

My angel niece was born with Hirschsprung's which affected her ability to use the bathroom and necessitated surgery. My sister and brother-in-law wanted so badly to come to Mott for the operation, but they found a pediatric colorectal surgeon in North Carolina who did his residency and fellowship at UofM. Needless to say, the operation went perfectly and she has almost no residual problems (knock on wood).
All that to say, your Victor valiant is in the literal best hands in the world, and I send nothing but positive thoughts and love to him, you, and your family.
I'm glad your niece is doing well too!!
You're in good hands Little Victor. Drink lots of milk , get strong and, Go Blue.
describing the lil' guy's sweetness and positivity. It always amazes me to see this in kids facing the types of challenges he is. Prayers and positive thoughts to the Little Victor, you, the family and all who love him.
Sending up prayers for all the Little Victors & their families at Mott today. Thanks for the support.
OK, so his motor seems excellent, but no evaluation of pad level? We're slipping here people.
Best wishes to this little guy.
Your niece's son will definitely be in my prayers. My little sister had the fontan procedure performed in 1988. She's 31 today and still going strong!
wonderful! I wish your sister continued good health too!!
He's in post-op and already off the ventilator. It sounds like everything went well. Now wishing him a speedy and thorough recovery!
Thanks again for the MGoSupport!
when I saw Little Victor with all the other threads. I have not heard or read anything ANYTHING about Victor Hobson and his maybe having a son who is gonna be recruited anytime soon. I imagine all these other players kids being recruited has me on a player son recruitment alert.
But first I want to make this very, very clear I am really not trying to minimize/downplay the plight of Little Victor I hope all goes well with the sad circumstances he finds himself in. I am just some what surprised at my reaction to everything I think is about recruiting.
