OT: If you hadn't lost all respect for Craig James yet...

EDIT: Actual Link to his Voting this week

I found this unnerving considering how close our BCS chances come down to these fools who vote. Apparently watching football as a job does not make you smart at ranking teams. Shock.

Side bet: How many times will there a be a SMU/Hooker meme in this thread?

Are you saying that Craig James allegedly killed five hookers while at SMU?  I hadn't heard that.  To answer the question, though, I lost all respect for him when he tried to make the world believe that he was the only elite recruit that didn't take money from SMU during their scandal.  Other reasons not to respect Craig James:

1.  Pompous and arrogant with no justification: read, "all hat, no cattle."

2.  Used position at ESPN to get Leach fired.

3.  Used position at ESPN to get Bruce Feldman "not suspended."

4.  No talent in the booth.

5.  No talent in the studio.

6.  Makes excuses for son instead of providing discipline.

7.  Is even worse than the sum of his bad parts.

MSU's october wasn't as brutal as everyone made it out to be.  OSU sucked even worse than they do now because at that point they were still missing their best receiver, running back, and offensive lineman, and they still thought Bauserman was their best option at QB.  Nebraska wasn't the world-beater everyone thought they were.  And besides their schedule in october, they played almost no one with a pulse.

Yeah he is a pretty big p.o.s.  Sometimes when you see people like craig james you just scratch your head and continue on with your life.  Some people just don't get it.  He happens to be one of those people.  This is obvious since most of the teams he has ranked you can see that all the other voters have those teams ranked lower than he does.  And a few teams that he has ranked lower most of the other voters have ranked higher.  Sadly, i'm having to listen to this ass clown while watching the WVU/USF game.  And also looking at Dana Holgerson is scary.  He looks like a creepy individual.

After the rumor came out that CRAIG JAMES KILLED FIVE HOOKERS AT SMU I lost all respect for him. The fact that the BCS allows CRAIG JAMES who is rumored to have KILLED FIVE HOOKERS WHILE AT SMU to vote just makes me lose respect for the BCS. On to a playoff! If only college football wasn't so addictive, we could all protest a season to start a playoff. College Football, soon on the schedule 1 narcotics list.

Are you talking about 5 HOOKERS being KILLED by CRAIG JAMES? We don't have any proof that CRAIG JAMES KILLED 5 HOOKERS and further statements about CRAIG JAMES KILLING 5 HOOKERS have not yet been proven correct.

His ballot may be an outlier for voters, but considering we have to be 14th or better in the BCS and he was only one of two voters(out of 59) that had us in the Top 14, I'll take it.  I noticed earlier in the season too that he always seemed to have us ranked higher than what all the other voters did.  I believe he was one of two voters that had us ranked after we beat Notre Dame, while all the other voters seemed to wait an additional week.

to only #1 and #2 but they were crushed in both games after early scores.

After tying Alabama late in the first, Alabama rolled 31-7 the last 3 quarters.  Against LSU the hogs led the Tigers 14-0 early in the 2nd quarter, LSU outscored them 41-3 the final 2 1/2 quarters.

This is no reason to vote a team #3

Exactly! Just because their only two losses are to the #1 and #2 teams doesn't mean squat. Assuming the polls have correctly picked the top two teams, theoretically, the other 118 should all lose those two games with Arkansas' schedule. All it proves is that Arkanas can lose to good teams, anyone can do that. The question should be, who have they actually beaten...the answer is next to nobody.

this is a terrible argument. I was waiting for someone to drop it. BSU is not a 4 or 5 loss team in the PAC 10. The only teams I see them losing are Oregon (definitely) and possibly Stanford. You can hate them for whatever irrational reason, but no team brings it for the big games like Boise. Kellen Moore's a great QB. Not just a Colt Brennan/Timmy Chang/Red Raider du Jour kind of stat-producer. He gets it done.

Eventually, they'll find their way into an AQ conference and prove their mettle.

When I opened this thread, I thought they had finally found bodies.  Thus, the disappointment.

Still, they still have not found proof he did not kill 5 hookers at SMU.

has a job with ESPN. He literally has ruined two football programs: Texas Tech and SMU. He is also a dbag that no one likes, so crazy they keep him on that network. Also, from what I have heard he may or may not have KILLED UP TO 5 HOOKERS at SMU....though he probably didn't.

For the record, Craig James voted Boise State (week: rank)

  1. don't feel like looking it up
  2. don't feel like looking it up
  3. don't feel like looking it up
  4. don't feel like looking it up
  5. 4
  6. 4
  7. 6
  8. 6
  9. 10
  10. 8
  11. 8
  12. 25
  13. 23
  14. 24

Basically, he REALLY punished them for that loss.  I get the logic, but that's a bit harsh, imo.  I still think they're better than a lot of the teams ranked above them.

it's a structured reasoning process that aids in decision making by inferring things based on 'proofs'. It does not rely on intuitiveness or experience and is not a substitute for common sense. Perhaps James is a strongly logical person; this would explain why he voted the way he did. This may also explain the rationale which lead him to purportedly 'off' 5 hookers down in Texas somewhere, an unsubstanciated rumor floating around the internet, but isn't it common sense to presume where there is smoke there is fire?...

this 5 hooker meme start? I'd love to know. I've only seen it here, but then again I've not looked elsewhere.

Oh, and Craig James is a douche, who most likely KILLED 5 HOOKERS WHILE AT SMU, though it's yet to be fully proven.

(You're damn right I had the over)

I thought for sure he would rank them in the top 25 considering all the eye-candy he saw on their offensive line. And yes, unlike the alleged story about the 5 hookers, he REALLY did say that about the Illini.
