I don't hate it when people get excited about a historical event. In fact, I think it would be awesome if the Cubs won.

I'm talking about the tens of millions of bandwagon fans. You can support and be happy for historical sports achievements without pretending you are a "lifelong fan."

The faux fandom bothers me.

if I were to have a "second" MLB team,b it'd be the cubs. many a summer afternoon was spent listening to the cubs on WGN. That said, I am and always will be an Indians fanatuc. Go Tribe! here's to hoping for a sweep! oh, and screw Jose Mesa.

This year, the NHL champions are in Pittsburgh, the NBA champs are in Cleveland, and the MLB champs are soon to be either Cleveland or Chicago.  To hell with the salt coasts.  Rise of the Midwest, bitches.  Perhaps in a couple months the ultimate Third Coast state will follow.
