OT(?) - Bowl Tour + alumni membership

Submitted by McHithard on November 29th, 2023 at 9:57 PM

My wife and I went ahead and pulled the trigger on tickets to the Rose Bowl with the fervent hope Michigan will be in it. We got some advice to attend the Michigan alumni association event that would be there. Might be a dumb question, but would we both have to be members of the alumni association to get tickets to it?

I'm an alum, wife isn't, I just haven't joined the association yet...but this may be the trigger. Thanks!

Little known fact: you can join the Alumni Association despite not being an alum, i.e. anyone can join as long as they pay the fee. My dad joined just to piss my sister off...

Here's what's on the AA website:

Tailgate-only tickets will be made available as space allows, with members receiving first priority. If space remains, non-members may also have the opportunity to purchase tailgate-only tickets.

I used to live in California. I would join Los Angeles and or San Diego alumni clubs immediately after Rose Bowl packages were offered in order to buy tickets only and network with locals who had spare tickets. You can purchase your own lodging subject to your own dates, show up for the public pep rally, etc. At that time (80's and 90's) cost me $20-$50 to join. I would look into it.
