OT B1G Lacrosse Championships
Michigan will be hosting the Big Ten men's lacrosse championship tonight at 7pm. #1 Maryland (RPI) will be taking on #7 Johns Hopkins. These are the top two teams in the B1G and longtime rivals that should make for possibly the best match ever held in Michigan.
The semifinal on Thusrsday between OSU and JHU was easily the best, most exciting lax game I've been to in ten years of fandom. Good defense and goaltending, bench clearing brawl, last second win, a large contingent of obnoxcious Buckeye fans all contributed to the memorable night.
Hoping for more of the same tonight either in person or on BTN.
Maybe the Softball team can walk over and watch . . . AND TAKE THEIR OUTRIGHT BIG TEN CHAMPIONSHIP TROPHY WITH THEM.
It's The greatest rivalry in lacrosse and the stakes are high especially for the Blue Jays.
Maryland will be battling for the #1 overall seed while Johns Hopkins could get the #4 seed with a win.
Meanwhile a loss for Johns Hopkins likely puts them at the #7 seed. A loss for Maryland could result in the Terps getting the #2 seed.
Johns Hopkins wins 13-10. Even though the Big Ten might only get two teams into the NCAA tournament, at least the Big Ten will probably have two of the top four seeds.
Rutgers might still get in, but they are crossing their fingers that Cornell loses tomorrow and then that the committee would pick their resume over at least two of Villanova, Cornell, and Bucknell.
