Notre Dame vice president for public affairs and communications Paul Browne said in a statement that the university will determine if any additional sanctions are warranted.

"Any student arrested on a felony charge also faces dismissal from the university," Browne said.

I hear you.  The last couple times I've been back and have driven UpNorth, it's astonishing how many S flags and such that you see all through the middle of the state.

For me, the last interaction I had with a spartan was at the grocery store the other day when the cashier remarked about my wife's Michigan necklace and explained to us while he was ringing up our groceries how he grew up in A2 a UM fan but went to state.

And no, neither paper nor plastic, my wife brings in her own bags.

Agreed. Any Michigan fans who no longer live here don't get it. 10 years ago there were no MSU football fans. They would only start showing up in late December when basketball was really starting to get going. It is sick how many bandwagon MSU fans there are now. Ask them who the coach was before Mork, they won't know. Hell, I have asked a few when Mork's first season was. Usually they say 2008 or 2009.

ND doesn't usually screw around with this stuff and generally take the student conduct pledges pretty seriously (except, arguably, with respect to sexual assault). I suspect everyone is gone or at least the first time offenders are done for most if not all of the season.

I have to think that he may be slightly more purple than that even, at least right now. It would be interesting to know what the precise Purple Alert level is in South Bend and whether it means that people in the area should take precautions to avoid running afoul of Brian Kelly today.

Honestly, I love it.  What fun news to wake up to on a glorious Saturday morning.

The sanctemonious and snarky fanbase can scramble all day and weekend to come up with the way to spin the story ..

If there is a need for a handgun that's easy to fix, take a concealed carry class and get a permit. No need to carry a gun with you without it because like these guys are going to find out, the law frowns on that.
