I think the word for Mgrowold is a 'hater'.

Me personally I think its awesome when people show off and succeed.   I also think it is awesome when people show off and fail.  Either way it is entertaining.

And I don't personally  hold any disdain for any athlete at any level (outside of brian westbrook who laid down at the five yard line and cost me 1500 dollars... but even in that particular instant I can respect that Westbrook did the right thing... but when I think about how that TD would have put me in the fantasy finals to win either 1500 or 2200 I want to vomit...   random rant over...)

What? This doesn't make sense, aren't you the guy who really enjoys showing off the good thing, whether it's your wife's very trim body in revealing apparel or your famous tailgating guests? You've got no problem with a little showboating--and that's fine, it makes for good board material--so I don't get why you expect world-class athletes to be all about humility. Surely there's another reason you cheered for that athlete to fail. Spill it, friend.

But I don't risk losing my wife by having her dress up like that in a bar without me and I dont miss the game by hanging out at the tailgate.  My #1 objective (staying married and seeing the game) come before any secondary goals.  So no, there's no other reason.

for the short dance portion of Ice Dancing.  They skate again tomorrow for medals.

Thier score was the highest ever - breaking the old mark they already owned.

The event started at 10:00 am EST and just finished (almost three hours).  I didn't watch any of it; just kept up with the score tracker to see when they were next.  I doubt the replaly later will be this long as NBC may just show highlights.  It may be worth it to record tonights programming and fast forward to thier skate.

Put that in your Pure Michigan video, worst state ever! Go Blue

All three pairs in the top 10, and the commentators (Weir & Lapinski, neither of whom is afraid of speaking his/her mind) didn't agree with the judges placing several teams ahead of Evan Bates & (non-M-student) Madison Chock and Alex & Maia Shibutani (who as the Shib Sibs have become media darlings).

Worth watching them tonight.  You're right about the TV.  The morning thing included all competing short programs.  The primetime replays will show only the top teams, and will no doubt include E&C and the Shibs.

Even for those embarrassed to watch ice-dancing, here's a great video from MGoBlue.com featuring Alex & Maia, making clear their feelings about Michigan.  Snippets of practice, no sequins.

[The NBC evening news just showed Meryl & Charlie studying in their feature... Was that the law library?  Most photogenic place to study.)

She paid the price for the showboating last year. She may have learned her lesson last year. Regardless, I think it's part of the culture for the snowboarders. If you look at how they seem to stick together, even between other countries, you can see there was likely no ill will intended. It's not like doing it on a football field.

You really have to feel happy for him. I hope he is happy with the bronze. He seems to be upset that he made mistakes. I hope in time he will appreciate it. They will be interviewing him later.  Looking forward to seeing it.
