Not SIAP: Mitch McGary's suspension increased by 10 games

Submitted by Joseph_P_Freshwater on

According to Yahoo Sports, it doesn't appear to be a second violation, but rather failure to comply with procedural guidlines set forth in the progam.

Doesn't look good for Mitch.  It's the last year of his contract and his minutes/stats are decreasing

EDIT: Mlive is garbage and doesn't want to link properly for me.  Take my word.

Full disclosure: I've never tried a controlled substance other than alcohol or tobacco, but for all the talk about how marijuana isn't habit forming, it sure seems to have a grip on some people. Is just leaving it alone easier said than done?

It's a mental thing. I view marijuana much differently vs. something that your body is physically addicted to. It took a full year off subutex for my body to feel normal after getting off painkillers. I can stop smoking tomorrow, and outside of being irritated, I won't have physical symptoms.

There is some minor irritibility, appetite loss, trouble sleeping or sexual disfunction that can occur for heavy users to just quit instantly cold turkey.  Anyone who says there is literally no effect is lying or lucky.

However, usually it's more of a, "Man if I could <insert way of taking in THC here>, I'd feel amazing and everything would feel great.

Alcohol, tobacco and others, you're shaking, or can die from withdrawls, cravings are heavily physical that's the difference.

It's like the difference between minor allergies or a mild cold versus full blown Ebola, hence the writing off of 0 physical side effects.  They're generally just so mild and temporary that it's just the mind thing of, "oh man I'd feel amazing if I just did again".  Or you get into a routine(before sleeping), and can he hard but also can be minor imbalances of serotonin/melanonin.

He was a crowd favorite his rookie season while leading the fast breaks, diving for loose balls, and hitting strangely difficult post shots. I really hope he finds a stable place to be a solid backup.

I was about to do a riff on the NCAA being so mad at North Carolina and Ole' Miss that they increased McGary's suspension from one season to one season plus 10 games.  Or, changed 10 of the wins when he was in a coat and tie to forfeits.  Or, invalidated 1 game for each of the free pencils he received in an Ann Arbor mini golf course.  Or,...
