NON-Realignment CFB Season Snowflakes

What are some of the story lines that are fascinating to you for this year?

Will any of the offensive juggernauts (USC, UNC, OSU, Tenn) have legit defenses this year?

Is Bama really on a (slight) decline?  Clemson?

Which hype do you buy more, OSU or PSU? LSU or FSU?

Would you take the over or under on Georgia 11.5 wins?

Thoughts on the B1G West...Iowa?  Wisconsin? Nebraska?

What's your biggest concern for this Michigan team, that isn't position specific?

Gene Smith retiring next year...will it matter?

Gene Smith retiring will eventually affect Ohio State, but that will come slow.

I think USC has a strong shot at the playoff.  Their defensive backfield will most likely improve dramatically in the run game just by watching their own film of last season and thinking "I cannot look scared and soft like that on camera ever again." Pair the elimination of that flagrant weakness with their elite offense, and they will probably look unstoppable at times this season.  On the other hand, getting USC in round 1 of the playoffs would be a blessing for Michigan.

The biggest concern for Michigan this year is the same as any year when we are hyped like this preseason (1994, 1999, 2003, 2007, for example).  Michigan football eats up it's own media slant every year since at least 1990, and teams that come into a season looking like a monster always, not sometimes, always get overconfident and severely underperform.  If Michigan shows up every single game, they can beat everyone and win the National Championship.  If they assume all they have to do is step off the bus and onto the field, they will lose games.

Time for me to get more thumbs down I’ve entered negative point zone. I’m feeling pretty popular on MGOBLOG.

This crew on here has a hard time with any negative opinions related to Michigan football. Seems the fan base has become soft over the years. It’s the thumper syndrome - “ if you can’t say anything nice don’t say anything at all”

Anyway let’s see how much further I can get in the negative column.

Fascinating storyline - Donavan Edward’s think he is in the same class as Barry Sanders and Walter Payton.
Offensive juggernauts having a solid defense - I don’t see it, BTW Tennessee won’t be an offensive juggernaut without Jaylen Hyatt and with Milton behind center.

Bama will be in a slight decline - I live in Alabama so I expect it by all reports.

I think LSU hype is real and possibly FSU. I live close to Tally and things are definitely on the upswing from the stories on the street.

Over with Georgia

I think Wisconsin is in the drivers seat but hope it’s Iowa. I hope Cade shines but his weapons are limited. Nebraska still needs to build their roster under a great coach.

Biggest concern is we don’t throw the ball enough and the top QB’s look elsewhere than playing in the Big House

No

Time for the thumbs down assault.
